NL Central news:

Avisail Garcia has declined his part of the mutual option on his Brewers deal to become a FA. He was due to earn $12M in 2022, he will instead take the $2M buyout. The 30-year old OF hit 29 homers and drove in 86 this season.

The Cardinals declined their options on Matt Carpenter and Carlos Martinez. St. Louis will pay a combined $2.5M buyout to both players, rather than a combined $35.5M.
