Im just saying that the level of improvement that was needed from what he took over to get to a point where Tennessee is .500 in sec play was off the charts.

And in baseball, with partial scholarships and other obstacles, rebuilding a program in a league that is more loaded than in football is extremely difficult.

Vols still don't have the pitching to compete with the top teams in the SEC. Nick Williams is a Sunday guy and Hunter Martin, Kyle Serrano, or Martin would not be a weekend guy for any other SEC team. Cox has been the Vols' best pitcher but is still best used in long relief. There is no one with SEC closer stuff.

As for the position players, the Vols still can't consistently get the big hit when they need it and there are too many holes in the batting line up.
