Official Auburn at Tennessee Game 3 Thread - 2 PM - Audio Only

In game 3s of SEC series, the Vols have lost 10-2, 7-4, 3-1, 5-4, and 8-1. Averaging less than 2.5 runs per game vs the back end of every team's rotation. That's ridiculous! Says a lot about the team's motivation on get-a-way day of every series.

That is sad. I had false hope when I checked the Auburn starter's ERA before the game.

Hoover is still in play thanks to Bama and UGA sucking just as bad, but I don't think it's enough to save CDS...it shouldn't.

I'd say there's a better chance of hell freezing over than CDS coming back.

Sucks too, because I think he's a good coach and wanted him to get this year and it's just not any better.

So I know a lot of baseball left but what are our chances of getting to Hoover?

Even with Georgia owning the tie-breaker over us, we should squeak in by finishing ahead of them and Alabama.

I do have to ask why anyone would care about getting to Hoover as the 12th place team only because Georgia has a triple-digit RPI and Alabama barely qualifies as a mid-major this year.

Now that 12 of 14 teams make it, it's an embarrassment to miss the SEC tournament, but it's not much of an accomplishment to get there--especially when there is a decent chance we'll have a sub-.500 overall record when we get there and be ineligible for an at-large NCAA bid.

A two team race for 12th. Difficult to imagine either UT or GA winning a series the rest of the season, though we have a shot with MO at home. Unfortunately, we also have a shot at getting swept a couple times.

Hope no longer springs eternal.

Hope is no longer springing, but it's very easy to see the Vols winning one or more series down the stretch.

Today was the only game over the past two weekends that we lost by more than a single run.

Also, Mizzou is a winnable series. They were over-hyped based on their early success. They have only one conference win over an SEC opponent not named Alabama or Georgia (though they're a run up on UK right now).
