Two decent fights this weekend. Looks like I'll be bring the other flat screen downstairs Saturday night.

9:45 HBO - Andre Berto (27-0 21 KOs) vs. Victor Ortiz (28-2-2, 22 KOs) Welterweight

WBO Featherweight Title
10:30 Showtime - Juan Manuel Lopez (30-0 30 KOs) vs. Orlando Salido (34-11-2 22 KOs)

Also Amir Khan fights on the Berto undercard.

I see Berto and Lopez both winning fairly easily...

I agree with your predictions but I'm not so sure how easy it's going to be for Lopez. Salido is a good fighter who went 12, and knocked down for the first time ever, Gamboa last year. Most experts seem to think Lopez is 1 and Gamboa 2 at 126 but I have that reversed and I wouldn't be surprised to see Salido give JuanMa at least as much trouble as he gave Gamboa.

As for Berto - Ortiz, I just give that one to Berto by default. I've never been extremely impressed with Berto, good but not great, but I think Ortiz seems to have been shown to be a product of the GB hype machine.

Even though they are rival networks, they really both need each other as far as boxing goes.

I totally agree. I was pretty surprised. I guess HBO figures because they have the Khan fight it makes their card better overall which is probably right but it doesn't make sense. However, there is a good chance the HBO card will be complete by the time the title fight starts on Showtime...
