I'm far from being a bandwagon fan and "fans" like me didn't ruin this program piss poor coaching did.Sorry your feelings are hurt and your boy Fulmer got canned but it's been years ago might be time for you to move on.

No point kicking him while he's down. He's gone, we're moving on. Good enough.

Dooley gave it his all. Unfortunately for us and him, his all is nowhere near good enough.

Not a chance. Until today, Hart had been stating support for Dooley. If he came out and stated that, the whole world knows he is lying. Either he is stating the truth, and has not started a search at all, or if he has talked to someone in advance, he will keep it quiet, and he will do all he can to keep that a secret. The one thing that makes me suspect he might have someone in mind is the fact that he will not hire a search firm.

What really burns me up is all of these Dooley supporters that come out of the woodwork once the decision is made. Could it be people that went to whatever church the Dooleys attended? Whoever they are, where have they been all season? Doubt they have been watching the games, because after the way the past 3 games have been managed, I gotta say, "Sure he is a nice guy, and yes, he inherited a mess. Yes, he brought in some good recruits. BUT, are the Vols winning? And even if they are losing, are we proud of the fact that they fought to the last second? Are they performing as a team at an acceptable level?" If my job performance was comparable to Dooley's, I would expect to be fired. So get over it, he is gone, time to move on and get a winner this time.

Hope we can find a good coach to take us to the NCG in one season. Here comes another 2-3 years of mediocrity.Maybe we can go to the ACC in 3 years.Firing Dooley is bittersweet. Where does the program go now and who wants to be the coach on the hot seat?

This is just the first step. Dooley is a good man but the wrong fit. Now we need a big name hire and hopefully move on up....

I am trying to balance how much I want that to be true... And how crappy I'll feel if it doesn't come true. If we hire another unproven FCS/FBS coach I'm going to need talked off the ledge....

I hope you're right.

Win and they won't, that's a fact. People will always complain thats human nature but when the season ends and its not an embarrassing barely winning season, everyone goes to sleep fine at night. I used to get pissed when Fulmer went 8-5....never again will I get upset at an 8 win season.

Does anyone remember how long it took to bring Kiffin in after Fulmer? I think I remember Dooley being hired alot faster than Kiffin. I'm just trying to prepare myself. I don't know if I can last until January...

I was wondering on a time table as well.

I would think that the time of their choice would be very telling as to the pool they're pulling from. I'm sure they'll wait until the season is over to pull the trigger on anyone.

You're wrong. This is a sad day for Tennessee - for the team, for the fans, and yeah, trolls, for the rest of the SEC. We're at the bottom of the football world - again! - and starting all over. Our football fortunes would have been much better had Dooley succeeded, like him or not. This recruiting season is down the drain, the Kentucky game is down the drain and once again, we have to start over. But, hey, high fives all round, kids!
