So we are 48 hours away from being in the heart of signing day, yet I feel like there is not as much uncertainty as a typical close to a class. That makes me slightly weary because I know something will pop up to make us all think the sky is falling between now and then and there will be things to make us jump up and down with joy.

I think it would be good for us to make a list of our Vol Locks, our probable Vols, our possible Vols, and our longshot Vols with a short description of each so everyone can get to know our list and their situation leading up to signing day. So help me out and I will edit this over the next few days to keep this up to date.

Vol Locks
1. QB - Tyler Bray - 4* - EE
2. QB - Matt Simms - 3* - EE
3. QB - Nash Nance - 2* - Is solid to Vols no wavering
4. RB - Rajon Neal - 4* - Is solid to Vols no wavering
5. FB - Channing Fugate - 3* - EE
6. WR - Matt Milton - 4* - EE
7. WR - Ted Meline - 4* - EE

Probable Vols
1. WR - Justin Hunter - 4* - I put him here only because of Ambles and Rogers, and the fact that their is rumors of VA trying to turn him.
2. DE - JC Copeland - 4* - Visited LSU, but seems likely to stick with TN
3. DT - John Brown - 4*- Heard about qualifying issues may not belong here let me know.
4. OL - James Stone - 4* - Said to be between Vols and Bama, but is leaning TN.
5. OL - Dalvin Glass - 3* - Not sure if he has a better offer, but didn't visit so that makes him a tad skeptical.

Possible Vols
1. WR - Markeith Ambles-5* - Visited Vols this weekend after a long and tough travel. Says its between UNC, USC and TN.
2. WR - Da'Rick Rogers - Visited Vols the last two weekends but has strong ties to UGA with coach and Family and may feel pressure to stay with commitment.
3. LB - Glen Stanley - 4* - Having trouble with SEC math class and may take easy way out and go to USC.
4.OL- Damien Robinson - 4*- Never visited TN but is very close with Marlon Walls, down to Ark, MSU, TN.
5. LB - Ralph Williams - 3* - Update (talked to Coaches Sunday night TN still in it), possibly Ole Miss

Longshot Vols
1. OL - Chaz Green - 4* - Was a strong VOL lean at some point, but is down to UF and USC, but since we have a good OLine coach now I think we have a slim shot.
3. TE - Delvin Jones - 4* - Likely to follow RW to Ole Miss if he ever gets qualified.
4. LB - Christian Jones - 4*- Vols visited but likely to sign with FSU.
5. DT - Calvin Smith - 4* - Vols may still have a small chance here, but looks like Bama may be in the lead for his signature.
6. LB- Raques Crump - 2* Will be a Vol if we have room and accept his commitment. (has been told he will likely not get a scholarship offer)

Help add to this list or correct any mistakes:hi:

That's kind of my issue, I feel like we don't have the large quanity of longshots/possible recruits. It's like we got the kids we expect to get and no one else, so if we miss on some of those that's where I get worried.

I hope you are correct! This would be an awesome class! Can you believe that we have this possibility with what we have gone through the last 3 weeks? Dooley, Thompson, & Chaney have done a super job holding this class together and even adding many quality recruits that we were not on before! GBO!!!

IMO...If we keep Copeland and Stanley, lose Williams and gain Ambles, Rogers, Stone and Robinson/Glass then this is a perfect class...

If we end up that way then I would say without hesitation it would be the best class I've seen in 10 years of following UT football recruiting very closely...if you consider star power AND filling needs

Thanks Eric VOL. This is a great thread. Maybe MODS could sticky this if possible.

I agree it is strange that there is not as many spots and not as many options as normal leading into NSD. Worried that Ambels /Rogers weekend got everyone pumped and if they both end up elsewhere with UT at 2nd choice, this board will be disapointed. But if UT land's Stone, keeps hunter and copeland, and Glass it will be a great class regardless of the 5 * WR's.

You are correct on the number. 27 is it. I would love to see the list you have above and would probably do back flips should it happen. However, I don't see us keeping all the top WR's on here. If we do get Ambles and Rogers, I think Hunter may bolt on us. I would be surprised if we get both Ambles and Rogers anyway (but would love to see it). I would also like to see Robinson on this list. He is a much needed player at a much needed position. Great list nonetheless.

This is a dream class under any circumstances, but particularly this year. If DD and staff pull in this class, no Tennessee fan could possibly be disappointed. Sorry, scratch "no." If we get 2 of the 3 from Hunter, Rogers, and Ambles, it will still be a super class. You never know who will pan out to be the best over their career, but I'd trade one of them for another OL. As many have said, it doesn't mean much if you have the best receivers in the nation if the QB is running for his life or pulling grass out of his facemask 2 out of 3 passing plays.

I say we get Da'rick, Ambles, and Stone. I am hoping we get Glass also. I also think we have the room and probably we will lose one or two that are on the list.
Considering Coach DD only had a couple weeks, he has done an outstanding job.

I don't think Hunter would bolt us even if we get both Rogers and Ambles, he's as solid of a lock as it is. Plus competition only makes you better.

So nobody has anymore names they think I should add or switch status of players that may be stonger leans or less likely leans?

Rogers coming back this weekend on unofficial right before signing days, two weekends in a row and Nash here, he is coming.


Ambles was 100% vol and recruited for us convincing several to come. Emotions calmed down and he realizes this is where he is happy, he is coming, Jacques Smith took care of it.

Stone likes DD and truly would rather play at UT I think and would get early playing time, Chicago Bears OL Coach can't hurt, he is DD number 1 priority, and a chance to show X who the better recruiter is, a very good chance he is coming.

Glass wants to come if we have a slot open he is in. Possible D Line prospect also. ? on coming but I think he will be here.

If Glass doesn't make it in one would have to wonder if there is OL prospect in state that might get the slot, say a Zak Tait maybe.:thumbsup:
