With Rivals showing 25 committments, this is what I think needs to happen:

Drop- Williams (USC), Stanley (USC), and Sapp (Don't need another DB)

Add- Stone, Rogers, Ambles, Glass, and Robinson or Green

That gets us to 27. I hope Brown is eligible.

I would really like to get Calvin Smith, but I don't see that happening.

The only problem I have with that list and our commit list so far is only one, 1, ONE DT. That is depressing and scary given our DT depth chart. I'm very surprised with the struggle we're having to get top DTs, particularly given how wide open our DT depth chart is.

This class will shore up our OL depth issues, but we still have serious need at DT. I guess we'll be looking at the JC ranks hard next year, but with the SEC math requirement that is not a slam dunk.

Preach on Brother! I said the exact same thing last night and got absolutely slammed for it. I have always said that if Tennessee can consistently sign top 10 classes and fill its NEED positions, with good coaching, we will be able to compete year in and year out. I think we will sign a good class. The only problem is, it does not look like we are going to sign enough quality DTs. Our need for dominant interior lineman was made so apparent at the Chick Fila bowl. We got dominated in that game. If John Brown does not qualify and J.C. Copeland goes to LSU that leaves us with ZERO DTs in this class. That is scary folks. Real scary.

I agree with all of that but Delvin Jones...I just don't see him coming here if we lose Williams.
He would be a sign and place though most likely right LV?

Wow. Love the optimism.

Just can't buy in. It'd make for a really exciting NSD though.

There has to be some additional players in play in case there are some unexpected losses?

Anyone got some info on those possiblities?

gvs just posted a article about Stanley. I have not seen it linked yet, so he it is, article made it seem 50/50 I thought. I also thought UT commits were off limits, oh well ...

UT commit Stanley now 'open' after USC visit GoVolsXtra

I think we have a few more "sleeper" prospect on the table, I just can't find their names right now. Anyone with that info post it here and I can add it to the list up top.

I really like the thread OP. You asked for corrections. You meant waver not not waiver.

Other than that you just forgot that there are several players like Thornton who have us on their list and who could surprise. We could also pick up a defection...

We could also pick up a SC LB stud who wants to come play under our new DC...

It sounds like we will loose Stanley to USC (Math requirement) and Williams to Miss. St. That is not so bad. That leaves us with 23 committments if we do not loose any more. Rogers, Ambles, Stone, and Glass/Robinson/Green would be a "BIG FINISH" to get to 27 committments!!!

I would love to get another DT, but I don't see who it would be that could give us some help right away! Maybe Copeland can bulk up and be moved to DT. Quarles and C. Smith seem to be out of the rim of possibilities!

Not to seem pessimistic but their is no way that we get Chaz green. I would love to get Rogers, ambles and hunter but at least one's gotta redshirt. There are just too many WRs on the roster with more experience.

Ambles, Palardy, Green, and Stanley all go to USC. And they may not be done taking our staff yet.

chaz green-(ive always had a good feeling regarding the parents, i kno if my mom says do something its done lol) <refering to his parents being UT alums but this is prolly a longshot

the only one i think that could waver and leave, would be ralph williams and i could see him ending up at ole miss
