Is that the FCS channel the entire tourney has been on??? I don't understand why anyone won't pick this game up. I even went to a BWW's last night and they didn't even have it.

Yea that is the same channel, its Comcast 264. I agree you think ESPN or someone would like to have a #7 vs. #10 matchup on their primetime lineup.

I can't remember the last time we played Purdue in anything! As for the fool posting crap on your sites, I apologize for that, the 12 year old's must be home for the holidays :)

Just checked my media guide. We played a home and home with them in 80/81 and the home team won both games.

And as far as football goes we've played them once in the 1979 Bluebonnet Bowl and lost 27-22.

So yeah the guy was probably just an immature douchebag.

It's on Comcast 725 in Chattanooga. Just in case anyone cares.

I have that channel but my buddy doesn't so I'm not really sure what the criteria is to get the channel. We both have Comcast Digital Cable so you got me anyway hope this helps.

Hello Tennessee fans. As a Purdue fan, I frequent the Gold and Black forums to follow Boilermaker athletics. Over 1000 Vols posters (or perhaps 3 with many different registrations) have inundated our basketball forum with more obscene venom than I have ever seen from our biggest rivals. I've been around long enough to know that these offensive pictures and language are not the norm from any fan base, but do you have any ideas on why all the nastiness? I can't remember any recent purdue/tennessee athletic contests that might have brought on this amount of animosity.
At any rate, the few posters here seem rational. I wish you good luck in the game tonite and in the season to come.:peace2:

Ignore those idiots BoilerMom, they don't represent true Vol fans. I got to watch Purdue in Knoxville (year was maybe '93?) for the regionals, and Big Dog Robinson put on a scoring show I'll never forget. The big topic then was Kevin O'Neill's Marquette team in town for the regionals, rumor being that he would soon be hired as the next Vols coach... we were pumped!!

Terrible sorry to hear that. That is embarrassing for those who call themselves Tennessee fans.

And no, I can't think of any reason for hostility between Tennessee and Purdue.

But we do get our fair share of trolls on here that complete miss the point of fan-hood.

Good luck tonight. I hope it's a great game.

I have a lot of respect for Purdue and remember the 93 tournament, when Grant Hill led Duke to the NCAA championship game and knocked Purdue out of the tournament in the Elite Eight.

In regards to our matchup tonight, I think the post matchups are going to be incredible to watch. R. Hummel v. Tyler Smith and J. Jackson v. W. Chism. Hummel and Smith are all around ballers, but Smith needs to be cognizant of Hummel's three point shot, which is very good. I think Smith's quickness will cause problems for Hummel on the outside. Point guard play will be interesting because Purdue's starting point guard is out and M. Goins is an amazing defender. I believe Goins and Prince will get more minutes tonight due to their defensive tenacity. I really like S. Hopson but he regularly lacks the proper defensive intensity needed for this level of play and that cannot happen tonight.

One thing that I found striking about the Boilermakers is they lost the majority of the big games they played in last year, especially at the beginning of the season. I thought they were highly overrated when they got absolutely slaughtered by a mediocre Duke team last year, which was the first good team they played last year. I know Tennessee lost a lot of big games as well last year but we had a much harder schedule than Purdue (see RPI) and also won big games (Georgetown, Marquette, Florida twice and so forth). We matchup very well against Purdue and have great depth, so I think we are going to have a great shot tonight.

Finally, from a psychological standpoint, I think it's great we won a close game last night because these guys won't be cocky and arrogant because I am assuming last night humbled them and we won a hard fought game. Our team struggled in those games last year.

Go Vols!!!

I grew up in West Lafayette, but went to IU and love UT so this is a big game for me.

I hope Tennessee wins, and I believe they have a great chance. Purdue is solid defensively and they don't turn it over much, but I think Tennessee is more athletic and will be able to take advantage of this and score more points.

This whole tournament has been a mess! If we can't watch two top ten teams play on regular TV then something is very wrong.

DirecTV people, I think the game will be on 649, but the times are wrong. It says the Championship game starts at 7:30
