Official Game Thread: Championship Game Oregon vs Ohio State. 8:30 PM

Exactly. Not a typical oregon game. Actually it looks like how things go when they lose whether it's standford, usc, arizona, etc.

Oregon's about 49th in rushing yards allowed per game. (possibly a bit lower since some of the bowls have skewed the data).

Their having to play as a "shut down" defense - especially with regard to OSU's rushing game - was never really going to work in their favor.

(Granted they're also about 108th in passing yards per game...so stretching them back and forth between trying to stop the run and prevent the big pass play. However, that number's probably made a bit worse by their opponents playing passing-heavy catch up.)

Either way, they can't really rely on their defense to win the game for them. It's more designed to bend and force some turnovers while everyone's passing.

Without their offense scoring, this becomes a long game for them.

For those of you who say Butch would be more aggressive if he had more experienced players... Cardell Jones is playing in his third game. But that doesn't stop Meyer from going for it in fourth down or throwing a 30 yard pass out of his own endzone

well i guess the difference in o-line dont matter to you tho, not a smart post.

whatever.

Not very often have I thought that the guy who won the Heisman was the best player. But Mariota is that guy.
