Since being benched has performed better than anyone could ask. Guard play is key down the stretch and in tournament games. Keep up the good work Trae.

Golden has been purely golden in the last 4 games. He is the guy that makes it happen.

When he went down with the ankle injury I became very worried. I don't think I would have cared as much a couple of weeks ago. Way to go Trae. Thanks for the solid play.

He is really showing signs of becing that elite PG CCM says he expects him to be by the time he's done here.

Personally, I love watching players grow right infront of your own eyes, and Trae has done just that this year.

That's why I love college sports more than the pros.

Maybe if coach benches him one more time he will turn in to Jeremy Lin. Lol. Would anyone say golden is playing as good as bobby maze?

I loved me some Bobby Maze. One could only wish Golden could have those cornrows.

I started the year doubting that he could ever be a game changing PG. He has really come around. I still think this should be a big recruiting target, but Golden has really turned it around.

Trae was a shooting guard in high school. Did Tennessee recruit him for point guard, or did it just turn out that way?

I've been under the impression that he was recruited to be a PG. I swear I read that in some viable source, but I can't remember exactly where.

We were recruiting some true point guards that year. Aaron Craft for one, but seems like there was another. Golden was a lights out scorer and three point shooter in high school. That made me wonder if he was going to be a shooting guard, but then circumstances had him move to the point. Just wondering out loud.

why would you want to recruit the position? you have a guy in golden who has 2 years left and is proving to be a great PG for us. we have a guy coming in in '13 that we feel will be another great PG for us, more of a true PG. so why recruit someone for basically just the '12 season, in which trae is going to be the PG anyways?

IIRC Trae was Pearl's back-up plan after Craft backed out and Joe Jackson chose Memphis. He was listed by recruiting services as PG , but that might have been what he was projected to play in college not what he actually played in high school.

Golden nearly had a double double. I bet if his ankle was better he would of had it.

Selby was listed as a PG too. He really would have flourished in Pearl's system. On Pearl's teams the PG really dominates the ball.
