Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Been meaning to ask you this for a while bud.

What kind of music do you listen to? I understand you likely have broad and eclectic taste (I do) but what are some of your favorite groups? List as many as you can think of/have time to. I am sure we have overlap.
Favorite albums?
Fave songs?

Groups you like that arent super popular, or maybe the genre isnt one everyone likes? For example, I like EDM. Still listen to house, trip hop, some trance etc. Most folks here probably dont, but I do. I listen to a lot of 90s music still, some 80s and 70s, but I like some new stuff too like Cigarettes After Sex, 21 pilots, NF, and several EDM artists.

I honestly dont want to tell you first who my favorites are, because I dont want my choices to affect yours lol. I bet you like some really good music.
Oooof! I was born in 1970, so 80s and 90s music is where my heart sits. I have a fondness for British new wave and pop, so the top of my list is PSB, Depeche Mode, New Order, and Tears for Fears. I enjoy other genres for sure. Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water is a current earworm, for example.

So GA is pretty much out of RBs for the game; Trevor Etienne is out. Are we about to discover a curse similar to what happens when you a play team with a second string QB - or even worse a WR filling in at QB?

Bama fans are nothing if not delusional. Consider these articles about Bama in the CFP. Somehow apparently Bama just has a couple of unexplained losses in the record books. There's one quick passing reference to Bama losing to TN, and complete amnesia about Vanderbilt. Something like if they just keep ignoring it, the loss to Vandy never happened. Then there's this classic bit of thought:

Based on the ESPN FPI, Alabama Football has a better chance of making the Playoffs than Tennessee, even though in a head-to-head analysis, the Vols' win over the Crimson Tide would carry some weight.

On Saturday, will all Alabama football fans be Georgia fans?

New Order and The Church are my jams.

I was born in 77. So we arent that far apart. My daughter and I sit for hours and listen to/watch videos on YouTube...on a weekly basis. We rock 80s stuff and DP and Tears FF both are in the rotation. Do you also like the Smiths? They are more like the Cure maybe than DM...but same Brit sound. Radiohead has a couple good songs too. The 90s is definitely my favorite decade of music though. So much good music from that decade IMO.

Do you have a vinyl (record) collection? When i was a kid we had cassettes, and then CDs dropped of course when I was a young teen...but when I was into the rave scene from like 18 to 21 or so I bought a couple dozen records. Sadly I dont have them anymore. My daughter has a cool record player though and is slowly collecting vinyl. Wish I could give her my old records. My Dad had an amazing collection of records from say 1965 or so thru 1985 (he was born in 51) but I have no idea what happened to his collection. They would be priceless these days. Even new records are expensive today like $30 and up each. EDM DeeJays dont even spin records anymore or have turntables lol...its all digital stuff with computers. If you watch them, they flip switches and stuff trying to look like they're actually doing something besides dancing...but in truth they can basically press play and roll a 2 hour set they previously recorded. Things have changed so much because of tech. Anyway, thanks for your post bud. Always looking for new music.

Oh yes. Love the Smiths. OMD and Erasure, too. I used to have a decent vinyl collection, but sadly too many moves did away with it. Still have a crapload of CDs. Man, I loved listening to the mixes back in my club days. Say what you want about gay bars, but back in the 90s they had the best music for dancing.

Clearly you never frequented the Cotton Eyed Joe.

Oh, thanks a lot! Now Smoke on the Water will be with me all day.

What about these guys?

That music is older than us, you naked baby!

Thats one of the coolest things about music. Doesnt matter when it was made, its still "new" to you the 1st time you hear it lol

Me too on the records. The reason I still listen to EDM is probably because of the club days. I mostly listen to "techno" as we called it back in the day when I am working out, or driving Also, yes...the best raves and national/international DJs that came to Charlotte always came to the "gay club" downtown. There were lines wrapped around the block of people waiting to get in, and they didnt close til like sunrise. Great dance music and lots of beautiful ladies. Miami still has amazing raves to this day, and technology has made them crazy with lasers and 3D holograms etc. Will see if I can find a cool video real quick ...heres 1 of my favorite current EDM artists doing a set at Burning Man. No idea how many tens of thousands of people were there?

I could see Bru running a 40 faster than what the scouts think impressing some team that will take him well before the 6th round. If he stays healthy, then he will be a very physical possession receiver in the NFL for many years.

Great question. Good looking list too. I think we are probably gonna put more than 3 Dlines in the NFL this year. Hope not...but Josephs could jump and Bailey could too. I think Bailey isnt out of eligibility? He has had a good season especially the flarda and bama games. I think that Kitselman is gonna be a late round steal for somebody. He came in and took over TE1 immediately. Good blocker and good routes/hands. He will be a big part of our success in 12 personnel for the rest of this season IMO.
