I was just curious..just got back from Gulf Shores.

it was a little early in season so not many people which was good..it was cold and very windy so hardly any beach time and no water time.GS is laid back and not a party scene, which is good.

I told the wife that this fall will probably be my last visit here. We can keep the condos but I’m not a fan.

what dont you like? We used to stay on Navarre Beach when I was a kid, but alas a long time ago. I think that is close to FWB.

Navarre is right down the road. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the FWB/Destin area, I’d just rather vacation where nobody else is.

I dont know where you can go for that really. I will say, we drove out to Fort Morgan at end of GS and it was remote..one road in and many houses and rentals but no high rises..absolutely nothing commercial and not even any retail otherthan a couple of convenience stores. I thoght this is where people go that dont want crowds or sense of sprawl.

The actual fort was pretty cool. Dates back to like 1700s iirc and closed after WW2. Check it out.

I havent been to Destin in 20 years, but not nearly as congested imo. GS is very nice, not commercial at all.
