This place is 1000000 times better than last night. I swear to god, last night was a sad, sad, saddest cheese burger fart rendition of a Jon Gruden thread. Beav, legit, or not. It's damn good to see you.

Question for all you ladies and gentlemen that were here in 2012....do y’all remember that one guy that showed up in this thread from another country? He said he didn’t really understand football but he had come to Knoxville for a visit and instantly became a UT fan? We had to explain football to him, running through that T, etc. lol super cool dood.

Just had a flashback and was wondering if any of you recall him too??

I remember that guy but not his handle.

I keep going back to something from this morning that didn’t seem to draw much discussion...

In the Seattle interview, everyone seemed to be focused on the unprompted Rocky Top reference... Which was a big deal in itself... But I’m still hung up on him specifically requesting that he not be questioned about the Tennessee job... That was just barely mentioned and seemed to get overshadowed by the RockyTop talk.

IMO, that is more telling than what he said at the end. It’s well known that he is a TN fan, so that shoutout could just be written off to him being fan. But the fact that he requested not to be asked about the job confirms 2 key pieces of information that we had no official proof of before.

- 1) It confirms that he is aware of all the speculation, and has a reason not to talk about it. Yesterday when he was asked, he made the “never say never” comment, which would have been the perfect opportunity to shut it down. Then the very next day, he tells them not to ask about it. Why was he fine with talking about it one day and not the next? Because he gave all the details he was willing to give the day before. He didn’t want them to dig any deeper.

- 2) The notion that we haven’t even reached out to him or that he isn’t being considered is officially debunked. It is now a FACT that he is being considered and has had at least 1 conversation with the UTAD or someone working on their behalf.

This may not seem like a big deal compared to all the inside info we’re getting... But to me it was huge... because it was the first real, concrete confirmation of something... Not a huge something, but something nonetheless.

Exactly

When did you move?

I never lived there; well, except for when I was 2 or 3 in the mid-fifties and my dad was in Korea. My mother and I lived with my grandmother. We just went there every summer for a month or so plus Christmases.

I was an Army brat; lived all over the south, DC, and Hawaii.

But like all good military families, my folks always swore that when he retired, they'd move back. They did. My dad died 6 years later in 1980, 57 years old of service-connected conditions, and my mother is still hanging in there in East Memphis at age 90.

Women in our family tend to outlive our husbands by a long, long time. Hubbies take notice. :)

I have it on good authority that the poster formerly known as Coasty is actually Go Golf @VolsScotchGolf from twitter who was formerly known as MIT Beaver...... and the real twist is that they are all creations of knucklehead vol!

Now let's get to Full Gruden or GTFO!

Excellent .. you took the scotch tips from the Beav

Ok heres what I know. The Beverly Davenport meeting yesterday was with Health and Human Sciences division. Most of the day. My wife was there with her and didn't get out till 2. She checked the system today after work and no MOU or contract in system. She did check for Hoke and it was in the system on Monday. I hope they are holding the MOU out of the system somehow. She will continue to check.

UPS fail. I asked if I could pick them up at hub. The guy said that the Hub on Callahan doesn’t have a Saturday schedule. I asked if I could pick them up somewhere between here and Georgia and he said that would take a re-route request, it would take another day. I said there’s no way to get them tomorrow even if I drive to get them? He said no.

She texted me back immediately. She needs an address and tracking number. How do you want to do this? I'll give you my email real quick as soon as you're ready.

I honestly think Tuesday is telling the truth...
I think Tee accepted the job this week..
All this negative media started when Tuesday was bringing the good info, and then that reporter took info from the board to start asking questions.
The next day all these media outlets started saying Tee hasn’t been contacted and things like that.

If I was John Currie, only thing I’d be upset about right now....is no matter how much, how sly, how fox I was being....that damn VN is always two steps ahead of me.

If the fox could say...he’d say GRUDEN to The Hill.
