Poke fun all you want. Just more money your spending in someone else’s pocket. And yes I don’t get the flu. Knock on wood

Vaccines deliver either live or dead viruses directly into your body tissue, short-circuiting your body's normal front-line immune defense system in your respiratory passageways and mucous membrane linings. If your immune system is weak or out of balance when the virus is introduced this way, you could have serious health consequences.

Also, there are controversial additives that have been used for years in seasonal flu shots. The most well known is thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative that has been associated with brain and immune system dysfunction. The majority of flu shots each contain 25 mcg of this toxin.

The live virus "FluMist" vaccine does not have thimerosal or adjuvants with it, but there are serious concerns about this vaccine option as well. For one, the FluMist virus is not a naturally occurring virus, but a laboratory-created influenza variant. The virus also has the potential to "shed," which means it could be transferred to other household individuals. This could be a serious concern if anyone in your home has a compromised immune system.

Oh my god there is so much wrong with this I can't even respond to it via mobile device.

All I'll say is you can get the inactivated vaccine without thermiserol if you are both worried about it and also live in or around an immunocompromised individual.

I swear, I have no idea why people pay for doctors and then pick and choose which parts to trust them on

^^^ This^^^ This. Right. Here.

This is what makes the Gruden threads awesome.

Why can't the rest of VN be like this? Why all the rage and attacks and snottiness?

Absolutely! A complete stranger gave me tickets and now complete strangers are trying to help them get to me. Completely amazing!

Okay, I have a purpose here again!!!!

I was troubled by the talk of revoking scholarships, and that sounded fishy to me. So, I went researching the issue. Apparently, the NCAA places very few restrictions on member schools with regards to the terms within a scholarship offer.

Ultimately, we should think of a scholarship as a contract, because it is one. The player provides effort in athletics in exchange for tuition, etc. However, every contract has terms governing termination. This would rarely come up, but I'm sure it does in cases of injuries, misconduct, NCAA violations, etc. In short, the dang thing assuredly has language that provides the University a right of termination. But, what are those terms?

I did a bit of research, and cannot find anything supplying those terms - or even basic policy positions. I'm sure they are out there, but I can't find them.

Undaunted by this lack of information, I sent the following email to three departments in the AD:

Dear University of Tennessee Compliance Office:

I am interested in gaining information regarding the nature of scholarships offered by the University of Tennessee. The NCAA does not impose substantial limitations on the terms that a member school may include within a scholarship offer. With that in mind, I am seeking more information about the terms that UTK uses in its scholarship offers. To the extent possible, could you answer the following inquiries:

• Does the University of Tennessee use one standard form for all athletes in all sports?
• Are there separate forms used for distinct sports?
• To the extent that multiple forms are used, is there a standard for determining what terms are offered?
• What are the criteria the University of Tennessee has included regarding revocation or termination of an existing scholarship?
• Can you provide a sample scholarship agreement (or point me to where one is available on the internet)?

I am gathering this information as a personal research project. No information provided will be used in any publication or disseminated for profit. This is purely for my personal research and knowledge. I intend to send similar questions to other institutions.

As you are aware, the Tennessee Public Records Act (TPRA) provides for gaining a wide variety of materials, including interoffice memoranda and policy statements. The breadth of my request is far narrower than the information assuredly provided under such a request. As such, I am hoping your office will answer the above questions without requiring a request under the TPRA.

GO VOLS!

In the alternative, if anyone can coerce Stonecold to get a REDACTED (no personal information) copy of his brother's scholarship, I'd love to review it.

TLDR: While it seems common sense that player's wouldn't be able to have their scholarship revoked for telling about Gruden, I've seen nothing that says so explicitly. My gut says the poster was FOS, but I've got nothing to refute it with.

Could disclosing Gruden as coach be a "conduct violation?" Maybe....
Doesn't Saban pull scholarships for performance. I did find this but maybe you can explain a little more.

This can happen for several reasons, but it is typically because of the athlete’s performance (on or off the field). Scholarships are one year deals and depending on the competitiveness of the program, coaches will sometimes not renew the scholarships of athletes who aren’t contributing to the team. They will use that scholarship in an effort to bring in new athletes who can. That situation is for on-field “lack of performance” but you can also lose a scholarship for off the field behavior. If you are getting into trouble don’t be surprised if you lose your scholarship.

*coaches have until July 1st to notify you in writing if will not be receiving your scholarship. With this notification they will also provide you with the documents you would need to have a hearing about your case.

Yes... A scholarship can be revoked at any time

I posted this on another site earlier and forgot to post here, but I heard a couple of things about Gruden from my friend. I had been pretty skeptical about this whole thing and scared to death that we would hire another never was. Here are those tasty nugs:

I talked to someone who's best friend is a former Tennessee player and played for Gruden at Tampa Bay (you do the math). He said he's already signed the papers and it will be announced Vandy game week and he will be here for the big recruiting visits set up for the game.

I probably said more than I should. Sorry cant add more clarification than that. The former player also said the reason we are hearing Patterson's name a lot is due to give Patterson leverage to get more money from TCU. I dont know if Patterson and Currie have the same management, but there has been an effort to keep his name in consideration for contract leverage. Much like Jimmy Sextons office pimping out that doofus Mullen as a major candidate.

I knew that coaching had some things that happened behind the scenes, but this former player described this as some Game Of Thrones type sh*t. If this is true, which I think is, Currie is a pretty damn slick dude.

They also said the stories of the Haslams not being a major player in this is bullcrap. They profit if Tennessee profits and with the Neyland expansion, they are hedging their bets for maximum impact on donorship and exposure.

If all of this information ends up being true, I am proud AF about the organization and leadership that we have in our Athletic Director and our future.

Ive been a member of Volnation for years, however my main love is Tennessee basketball (I am a glutton for punishment).

When I went to Tennessee one of my good friends that I met in class was Jamal Lewis and hanging around him, I got to know some of the other players, such as the one who gave my friend the info. I dont think he would say this to my friend to troll him. He knows we are VFL.

Im not acting like this is 100% and I am not saying check my stats, but figured I would drop what little knowledge I have on the situation.

That is incredible. I would pay a lot of money for a bottle like that.

I know you like scotch, but I got 15 year old pappy to share when He is announced. Played 36 today and did not look at the boards today because I knew. Soon.

Beav- seriously offering you the bourbon. Love to toast this adventure

XPO will never crack the small package world in the US because UPS and FedEx have enough political clout to keep things as they are...

Also XPO is not very strong in international freight forwarding and booking management.
Good TL, IMDL, LTL company as well as warehousing. Air and Ocean is lacking A LOT.

Work for USPS. Half the packages UPS and FEDEX cant get out on time so they dump them on us.

Small world. We better be communicating great with all our customers since we are spending $400 million per year and over 16,000 IT professional working for us for technology. lol

We really took off after we bought out Conway for $4 billion and it was worth every penny. Our shareholder freaked out at first but now they all have smiley faces and counting their money. Our stocks went from $20 per share up to around $80 I believe last I heard and our CEO Bradley Jacobs is on Mad Money with Jim Kramer about every month. LOL

We will be buying our more companies early 2018 and our CEO is ready to spend $8 billion this time. Since your in the logistics & freight business, keep your eyes open. XPO is booming and jobs galore right now all across the country and very, very competitive salaries and bonuses. I'm in the Last Mile Division but the LTL division is booming too. I've been doing this 25 yrs now and still loving it!

Im a Fedex Freight city driver myself. The xpo guys are normally pretty cool. Actually I have lunch with the XPO driver who runs the same route I do pretty regularly

What's the excuse going to be this time? Couldn't get a staff together? My grudometer is going down fast. Even Trey Wallace seems to have cooled his jets, so I'm trying to hold out hope but reality has got to set in at some point. Need a grude fix soon.

UPS has dropped. My company XPO Logistics is now #2 right behind Fedex but not much. After our next acquisition which will be early 2018 we will pass Fedex. We might even purchase Fedex. We got the money.

You work for XPO? Out of which location?

I worked at New Breed for 13 years, right up till they become the Supply Chain Division of XPO.
