Hey guys, i'm a long time lurker on Hogville and decided to create an account. With that being said, i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I have not heard from any of my reliable sources that Gruden is interested in coming to Arkansas. I have heard from multiple people that Butch Davis is our guy and the deal is all but done. What i am hearing is that Derek Dooley was given his walking papers by Tenn the day after the Miss St game and that the firing will be announced in 7 or 8 days after the Tenn V SCar game. I've heard Tennessee has been in contact with Gruden through intermediate parties since Tenn's loss after Florida and Gruden is interested and listening. Recently, some Tennessee boosters were given the green light to give Gruden an unofficial offer to gauge his real interest, i don't know the specifics of the contract but Gruden declined due to the fact that the job isn't officially open yet (he's not saying "no", more like "talk to you later"). It sounds like Tenn and Gruden are negotiating and real talk between Gruden and the Tennessee AD will begin after the firing of Dooley. Info has been scarce lately because of leakage to the media (Chris Low of ESPN, leakage to CBS sports, and Paul Finebaum) which means less talking and more action. If the proposed timeline i'm hearing is true, Dooley will be officially fired after the TN/SC game and Gruden will be announced as the HC of the Vols sometime around Thanksgiving, bringing Raheem Morris on board as his DC. Gruden has ties to TN and is in fact the job he wants. The boosters at Tennessee are restless and ready to start winning again. Anyone who says Tennessee doesn't have the money to pay for Gruden doesn't know the real process, the AD won't make the decision or pay for it, the donors will, and TN has HUGE donors (more than just Haslam), anyone who thinks that Arkansas has more money to spend on a coach than Tennessee doesn't know what they're talking about. I'm also hearing that Haslam might try to push for Saban as the Browns' next HC. None of this is set in stone yet, but the info is starting to form a pattern.
