Since multiple people keep asking you detailed questions, I'll assume you have a lot of credibility, and tons more insight than me. Could he have a exception? Sure. But most of the time you're allowed one, maybe two. Any more than that and it starts to become irrelevant since you've already weakened the provision enough where it won't limit your options. The fact JG would use one on UT as opposed to ND or Ohio State (dad coached at ND and he has close ties to OH) or a pro team seemed a surprise to me. I wasn't aware he was as close to the program as people have been saying.

And just assuming he doesn't, the buzz is that UT boosters are ready to get him out of the ESPN deal no matter what (even if it's 20+mil due upfront)?

Any details about Grudens ESPN contract are speculation on my part. However, I was told that, " It's taken care of."

I'm not worried about ESPN being a holdup.

This is where he started coaching. He is close with boosters , former coaches and players. There is no way at his age (49) he signed anything that would keep him away from the game if he wanted to coach again. He isn't going to be the next Jon Madden. I don't think he would be talking about a return if he knew it wasn't possible. He has been saying this since September. He has turned down many jobs , but the only one's that people believe he would leave for (College) is Tennessee and Notre Dame. ND is in no need of a coach at the moment. And Jon flat out loves Tennessee.

I'm hearing a slight buzz about new time table, just a small one at this time.

After the Vandy game by any chance? CDD actually resigns with a buyout?

The one that has me wondering/concerned is that I have heard he may go ahead and resign.... They would then hire an interim coach...... The sketchy part is that the interim coach would be CFP....

I actually asked about this one earlier on this thread
