IIRC someone on here said their source said it could be announced on MNF. That was earlier in the week and may have been in Gruden II

Most of those guys have out clauses. Look at Valentine and Francona on the baseball side. ESPN let's them go and has great access after the fact.

I've also yet to see it confirmed...but could he not continue MNF this year?

He won't be assuming head coaching duties this year, just recruiting...being on MNF and then making phone calls the next day to recruits would be nice.

I supported Dooley through half of this year.... the came UGA game and I took off my orange colored glasses and begin to look for real improvement.... I couldn't find any

It was MSU for me. The thing is, we could have won any of those games, because other than Alabama, we had as much or more talent than every team we have played. There is just no excuse for not winning at least one. It would be different if we didn't have the talent, but we do.

I do wish Dooley the best, and I appreciate the difficult job that he accepted, but this is the way it is. We are not Vandy or Kentucky. We are not Auburn or Arkansas.

May Gruden win a NC with Dooley's players.

That's what I was told but my opinion is that would be wrong. I don't see JG willing to allow himself to be announced the same day DD is fired. That's why I am still skeptical.

I'm glad that you posted this because I would have sworn that this was posted. I just couldn't find it to re-post.

The post said something about Gruden having some big news on MNF or something like that.

There is no doubt about that last sentence. People will look foolish that , lets just say do not like looking foolish. Like the very prominent person that claims to have read a MOU that was to be presented. 0 chance this person made that up.

There's not a hard limit, but Freak has set the unofficial limit at 12,000 posts/thread.

Soon. It varies, but usually 12,000. 15,000 max I think.

Yep, that's the one. I should've said big news instead of announcement.

This. Would just be bad PR imo. I see the benefit for sure, just not sure it looks good. Hard to argue DD was given fair shot this year if UT admits they were negotiating with JG before DD lost this game. We all may know or think that is the cae, but dual announcements Monday all but confirms it

Good reason to call bull$h!t on the guys claiming Dooley gone and Gruden hired all in the same day. Maybe a report of Dooley is fired and talks of Gruden being contacted about taking the job but not "first up is Dooley saying good bye and now as he steps off the stage comes Gruden to be named the new head coach"

Is there a reason he couldn't finish the season at MNF? It really couldn't hurt us if he did.

I know ESPN expects their player/coach employees to allow ESPN to break any stories involving them, so MNF would seem plausible and also would explain why no one in the local media here can confirm the story (if it is true).

He says Dooley is gone, but because the boosters want him gone, not Hart. Says Hart likes Dooley. I've certainly had fights with people I like.
