Official Jon Gruden Thread III

it seems our insiders are suggesting that Hart has an agreed deal with Gruden who is waiting on him to fire Dooley, before he signs. YET, Hart does not want to fire Dooley yet, because of the buyout, who they claim Haslam has already agreed to pay. SO, Hart is holding up the best coach he could possibly hire, and giving him every opportunity to back out, so he can wait a few more days and MAYBE fire Dooley after the SC game. this sounds like complete BS to me.

This is actually a decent summary... I had to read it twice for it to make sense... Still doesn't really.

Been preoccupied for the last 18 hours or so. After finally connecting with my main source (who gave me a yes without saying yes), and talking with several folks who are on this board and others, I feel 100% that the details have been worked out with Gruden.

Sorry that I've been away and I won't spend a lot of time here the next day or two. Just know that good times are ahead. I'm getting back to buying season tickets again. Go Vols.

Without giving us a name, can you give us something to be confident in your source?

I tend to believe you, but there are several others claiming the exact opposite (TSR for example).

Would love for this to be true. I've been middle of the road where Dooley is concerned but imo, it doesn't matter if we win or lose this weekend. If you have the chance to get a name like Gruden as HC then you go get him, even if Dooley wins out.

:lolabove:

I know for a fact he's a liar and a troll. Period.

Hilarious that he has everybody fooled.

He isnt trolling and he isnt lying. He is simply doing exactly what you are doing which is posting what he has been told by people he trust who are connected. I dont agree with him, but he isnt trolling or lying.

This x 1000.

People are trying so hard to make this happen. I got news for you....creating a rumor out of thin air doesnt make it any more likely to come true. You guys are like coke heads who havent had a hit in years, its pathetic if you ask me, which you didnt but oh well. Get a grip people.

If an announcement isn't made soon, that's as good as done. Can't tell how many hours I've spent in this thread this week.

Why?

It's rumors and speculation.

Nobody has to read this, believe this and take it as fact.

I don't mind you and I like slice but the people that come here and just shoot down everything because they don't believe it, what's the point? It's under rumors and speculation. They created an entire forum just so it's not on the football forum to tell everyone it's all rumors and speculation.

I know I don't go around reading about aliens, ghosts, God etc. if my view is that it's ridiculous. I see no reason to get down on people in a forum that's dedicated to rumors.

:good!:

I would reply to you much differently if you were not a moderator.

Do what? I've got a guy telling me that Dooley will be gone as early as Sunday and as late as the week after Ky and we won't have two coaches under contract at once. I'm trying to figure out what the point is.

I believe Dooley has been told he will not be retained. What is then happening behind closed doors is do you want to save face and resign so doesn't show as fired on your future resume? IF you want your full buyout then then you will be fired and if you want to negotiate a buyout such as 3.5-4 million or do like Bruce Pearl did have medical insurance from the University for another calendar year to lessen a buyout for Dooley but soften the PR blow for his future.
