This is obviously untrue. Lots of guys go from coaching to the booth and then back to coaching whenever they please.

Ditka did this exact thing in New Orleans in the mid-late 90s. Although he wasn't a color guy, he was an analyst

If you will keep it off the board I will tell you more in an IM. Deal?

Im me, i wont say anything.. i just wanna know if my team is gonna be in good hands.. heck i cant sleep, already burned up a cell phone.. and my lady id pissed at me for beingon here all the time..ughhhh

Did it occur to some of you that you may not be hearing anything about Dools and the future from Hart for good reasons?

Yes but the empty seats and lost revenue have given many of us reason to believe that Hart will be/ has been compelled to act.:whistling:

The chargers are 4-4 and have a good shot at a wild crd berth due to playing in a suck ass division. I report fora team in the nfl and I'm certain that norv is better than 75% safe.

DTO responded to another post by saying "San Diego"..what's up with that?

Not sure Smokey but if I was guessing if DTO knew something he would have been more clear than that. It is my understanding that his contract does not allow him to return to the NFL till 2016 to coach, could be wrong but I still think if it was big he would have said more.

Hubbs is exactly right. The agenda item isn't a big deal. This item tomorrow isn't about moving the entire AD under the foundation, it's reworking the agreement to change the reporting structure of some development work or so to be under the foundation. I've been told that it only deals with one individual position.

If the university was considering moving the AD under the UTFI (University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc.), which is a separate organization, it would be front page news. This does not have anything to do with who Hart reports to. What it does do, however, is take a first step in dealing with some of the financial issues (certain development) and taking them out from under Cheek, because the UTFI is a separate organization with it's own Board, of which Dipietro is more affiliated and not Cheek.

What tomorrow means, who knows, so anyone expecting tomorrow meaning much is going to be very disappointed. No telling what is in the works with this organizational stuff down the road.

The problem right now is that disappointment and anger have become so commonplace that it's now turning into apathy, which the worst possible thing for the AD and university, especially considering the financial issues both have. There have been deep rooted problems in the university for years that started flowing to the AD when it was moved under the Chancellor several years back. Plus the AD has its own financial problems with losing and the economy. Now apathy is setting in.

The problems with UTK have been overlooked for way too long, but the right folks, I believe, are starting to notice, even if it is because of football. The program needs a united front. Everyone knows Dooley isn't that guy, which is why I believe the insiders that say he's done. The most important thing to do is hire someone that will unite the base as much as possible as well as someone that has the respect of everyone on the inside. IMO, that list begins and ends with Jon Gruden (unless of course Nick Saban wants to make himself available).

Like I've said before, I have no inside info in the AD or with boosters so anything I say is speculation at best. The process has to play out, but if Gruden is interested in being the football coach at UT and the money is there, I have a hard time believing that all of the other issues won't be resolved. If Gruden doesn't work out, then I personally believe they need to look at a Tennessee guy, because at that point, even though the fans wouldn't be totally on board with say David Cutcliffe, at least he'd have everyone's ear and respect, particularly the people that matter. That would at least give the program a chance to work out it's issues while also putting a good product on the field and providing some stability. Strong and others may be better coaches, but they wouldn't hold any more weight than Dooley at the end of the day with the people on the inside of the program.

Have been saying this all week.
