Primarily Ut, but I think the NCAA might have a problem with the Corona endorsement, since no alcohol is allowed in any college stadium. As the football coach at UT Dooley has endorsements as well, but this is primarily worked through the AD and not by Dooley himself. Gruden would be allowed to do commercial but the endorsement money most likely would go to the AD...also most of the time commercials are done for big boosters.
This is incorrect.

There are some schools that sell alcohol at their stadiums and even some that are on-campus facilities (West Virginia is one). The NCAA doesn't like it, but there are no rules prohibiting this (EDIT: NCAA rules, that is).

Yeah, but he keeps mentioning him even though no one calling his show is. It's odd behavior. No one is asking about Jon Gruden.

Caller-Erik, who do you think our coach will be?

Ainge-Anyone except Jon Gruden!

Caller-I know it won't be Gruden, because you say that every 5 minutes, but what kind of experience do you think the next coach will have?

Ainge-Not the kind that won a Super Bowl in Tampa Bay, I'll say that much.

Caller-Oooookay.

Yeah, I heard that.

Freep to the rescue, it is totally unlike Freep to disagree with something...:whistling:

Well maybe there is one or two schools that allow it, but the overall point of my post is still intact, but thanks for splitting hairs...

And he would give away all that $? NFL, gatorade, or whatever?

I guess so.....but you'll need to ask him. I'm guessing being at or near the top of highest paid college coaches will be enough.

Word is he doesn't make near as much at ESPN as is commonly thrown around. He does not make the $4.3 million figure we always hear.

He does with all the endorsements and such.

we coulda used alcohol in Neyland this year. On second thought that would have probably ended badly.

Do you think this figure was combined with endorsements and when he was still getting paid by Tampa?

After reading Grudenville, I am starting to believe they might get him. It is like a drug there and the more you read the more it pulls you in. Quick I need an intervention here to get me back..........

Ainge forgets it's the radio. No one can see him winking while saying "anyone but a Super Bowl winning coach" wink, wink.

I think we can all agree Jimmy hyams is a no-good but last night he said 20% tops is all he would give for the "gruden coming " so why would boosters keep Ainge hush hush now and not Hymas?

JW BTW

Read Hogville.

Their insiders are positive it's not Gruden. Originally one of their mods said Gruden was a done deal back in April and now they lock/delete all Gruden threads.

Ain't happenin.

I will try to help, just remember it is Arkansas, and why in the world would a guy with plenty of options go to a place where he has no connections. Plus Bama and LSU and Texas A&M are on their schedule every year and Arky will not outbid Tennessee (or any NFL team) for Gruden...hope this helps...

Why the hostility?

There are 21. Not splitting hairs, just saying there is no NCAA restriction on alcohol sales. I have no problem with posting stuff as long as it's correct.
