Posters says its going to be a homerun hire and will take a lot of money.Smart isnt a homerun hire and no way it takes a lot of money.If this is the best Tn can do then Tn needs to nuke its football program.
Smart isnt even a decent single,let alone a homerun hire.

How often do announcers really name the previous college of the player when talking about them? Hardly ever. He has done it back to back weeks now.

If the Vols hire smart I will take a wait and see approach. I'm not sure I can handle much more. I might just follow all sports besides football. I grew up less than 45 mins from gainsville. I will NEVER follow them, but my dad has a fav team, and I might watch games with him until the Vols AD gets their act together. I can't take much more of this crap. That said I don't believe it will be hart.

I agree. At this point UT needs make a hire that shows its fans and the college football community that they are committed to winning. In time Smart could possibly be a good hire for someone, but he is certainly not the statement needed by UT IMO.

Just browsing around. Came across Sonny Dykes. No way they take another coach from LA tech. He might be great, but the fan backlash would be too great.

That makes two of us.

Compared to the surrounding areas, this town is an oasis. Somehow though, our local government continues to find ways to prove that government at all levels will spend tax payer money in ways that don't make any sense. For instance, our city decided to attract new businesses by labeling it an "aerospace center of excellence" and then by spending money to erect these silly little airplane statutes all over town. Fantastical I tell you...

I read stories about how inept the UT administration is, and pray that we had those people running this city as it would be a ten-fold improvement.

Good post. Smart might be the next great college coach. I would be willing to give it time. Heard he was a very good recruiter, but so was Sal. Agree, needs to be a proven guy, or f you Hart.

I love tullahoma. Lived in shelbyville for a bit. I'm jaded with your town because of how hard I worked there. No joke I worked 27 hours straight there. We couldn't stop once we started. We had to cure our lines with steam or they (much like your old sewer lines) would collapse.
