Sub par coach? definitely. Recruiter? not that bad. if he was that bad there would be no chance in hell of getting a upper class coach in here. I think the fact that there has been interest from a guy like Gruden is a sign that Dooleys done a decent job of rebuilding the talent base.

McGill, I don't know you so I will ask; what's your opinion kg Gruden to the Vols?
I was against it, and every time anybody brought up his name for years I said so. But at this point I think he is the one guy that could really energize the whole of volnation. Not because I think he is that great a coach, but because everybody else does. Most of what is wrong with the team now imo is that they don't believe they can win. Gruden has done some great things, maybe at this point in his career he knows how to avoid the mistakes of his past.
He would dominate on the recruiting trail. Would shine as an offensive guru. He would have to hire a top notch defensive staff or he would fail IMO.
That is almost exactly what I have been saying. Forget Bray and Worley. Peterman is the perfect QB for Gruden. Patterson or Howard either one would have about a baziilion yards off of slants. Croom also would be a superstar.
Agreed! Bray is gone. Hunter is gone. CP is gone. Time for peterman, Croom, downs, , and pig + Bowles to shine. This offense can be as good. Peterman can pass and run Third and 2 can be a bootleg, pass, or rush. With Bray its a pass.
