Just got a call from my buddy who's mother in law works at Catholic and she just got done meeting with Gruden and the family herself. This makes more sense to me then visiting through the week when everyone is there. TIFWIW

I love Gruden man, he's checking into the Mariott in Nashville while meeting at Knoxville Catholic High...he is highly organized.

Ok...just had an amazing conversation, and I have just become completely emotionally detached from this situation because I am 100% for sure, Gruden is coming. I didn't mean for myself to fall into the situation that has transpired, but it happened.

A brief synopsis, and it all lines up with everything that has been credibly posted here:

-$9M is the mark for coach and staff (as it was explained to me, $9M is a mark that these boosters have said it would take to get the University out of the dump)

-we will possibly know tomorrow if we lose to Vandy, but "they" will know tonite. Either way, the exact timeline will be laid out after the Vandy game.

-I didn't get into too many intricate details, for proprietary reasons, but I was assured that this is done...and the exact words were, "UT has no choice. We are hurting badly and this is the only option we have, and everyone involved knows it. No other coach can pull this off at this time."

The bolded part is what I've been feeling. A guy like Stoops could get us turned around too, but he is a bigger pipe dream than Gruden, IMO. In today's SEC, there are other coaches who could greatly improve us, but we need a HR to get where we want to be.

I hung it up about 12 last night and started reading where I left off and it looks like about a 3 hr checkout for you. You have put the work in on the board that foe sure. I hope your information is correct for the obvious reason and because you love the orange. It makes me smile when a rabid fan like myself strikes "gold" on something like this.

Be careful with the "unlimited data plans." Not that I have any experience with it, but I have read about them. I see you on all the time- lol. If you have to pay more, just means you are all in and paying for Grude yourself.

So was the Webb rumor, and the campus rumor, and the CAK rumor, nor some adolescent finds out the Grudens are Catholic and BAM its Catholic.

I assure you I am correct in the fact that the next time anyone named Gruden will be in Knoxville is when they are being driven from the Tac Air to the press conference.

It makes no literal sense to believe these things especially anyone that has an ounce of business sense to them. Hell when I replace a manager we interview his replacement after hours in a secretive way because nothing is ever done until it is done. The thought that this could be true is beyond laughable.

I feel so calm today because of my conversation...I'm sure the other posters with legitimate info can attest to the feeling of having information that is so solid that you become detached from the emotional roller coaster this has been.

I can now focus on havin fun with my new buddy, USMC, as we watch our Vols kick the chit out of Vandy!!

Consequently...I'm so confident with the transpired events, I hope we win out the rest of the season...it's merely a timeline for the announcement now...and I can calmly wait another week or two just so UT can win the last two football games and go to a bowl...in in for a bowl game now!!!
