Did anyone find it odd that Hart essentially said that this coach had to have experience in the SEC...Gruden had a cup of coffee when it comes to the SEC...is that enough or am I just reading too much into that comment?
I think you and others are reading too much into that comment. Hart's exact quote was: "Obviously, we want a coach who knows how to be successful, who has had success and knows the difficulty of climbing the ladder in the SEC and can appreciate and identify what that takes."
Clearly, any coach who has been successful in comparably difficult situations (NFL, high major college conferences) can meet the criteria of knowing such difficulty without having coached in the SEC.
