Yes but you need to take into account a plethora of operating expenses throughout the football operations as well as building, maintenance and the AD in general. Not saying you are wrong by any means but there are a lot of hands in the pot do not all is outright profit

correct but if you calculate in ad space (i.e. Verizon, First Tennessee, Comcast), online revenue of apparel and souveneirs, booster money(i.e. the season ticket holders pay more on average than $50 dollars a ticket). These all things I did not include, and I think these things would cancel out the issue of operating expenses. And I also think my original total was undershooting in actuality...

UT makes approximately 5.123 million dollars off of ticket sales each gameday (if you calculate an average of $50 per ticket and a sell out). And approximately around 2.561 million dollars in concessions, programs and apparel (averaging $25 per fan in a sell out). Around 550,000 per game in television and radio revenues. These three figures alone come up to 8.234 million dollars per sell out, and this is not including ad space in the stadium and other stadium revenues and booster funds.

My point is We would make up the staff's salary in 1 home game...

LOL at "approximately 2.561" Never thought an approximation would be put in thousandths.

That seems to worked well for Florida.... As far their assistants I didn't think looking it up worthy of my time either...... I just wondered if he has been on his own boards complaining about what Florida spends...would seem more honest than his continual re-hash of the money

Wondering the same thing Coasty

Was their a hurdle overcome with the administration and Hart at odds with each other?

The Money from a Big Time bowl as well as network money is really where they make a profit

small bowls.....not so much, to much expense

Last year's numbers had the entire staff at a hair over $6.3 million.

This is how I look at it. I don't say "Oh my gosh is a football staff really worth $9 million?" I say, "Would the results of hiring Jon Gruden and his dream team be worth $2.7 million more that the results we are getting now?" The answer is "Absolutely!"

Edit: I'm on mobile, read that wrong, and thought the $6.3 was our current staff but apparently its Florida's. Either way, Gruden is worth it IMO.

I was going to switch my avatar but when I look into Smokey's soulful eyes I just can't do it! With that in mind, if someone wants a Gruden avatar, feel free to abscond with this one. I just helped him with his tie:

Those were Florida's numbers last year. Tennessee last year was a bit over $5.5 million. With the new coaches, it's probably higher this year.
