1. Deal is not over. Chances are dwindling. Too much info was being leaked. Disinfo was issued to find "moles" and plug holes.

2. Gundy is big player. Talks broke down a few weeks ago, but back in play.

3. I caution some posters, be careful what you say and how much info you leak. This board is now being monitored keenly (and has been for a few weeks now) by 3-4 different camps. Deal was almost dead due to info leaking.

I am jeopardizing a lot myself by passing along this info. You may already know it, you may not.

That is insane! Leak info to find a mole. This is not the CIA or the Secret Service. Cloak and Dagger BS if you ask me. If Gruden has contract issues which prevent him from being announced as HC of the Vols until a certain date then so be it!

But come on really.... Gundy a player.... His AD has not given him permission to talk to UT!!!

We are hearing all these coaches are going to the Vols, and it will probably be Skip Holtz. (It worked so well with Dooley being related to a winning coach!)

Chris Low just reported on the nation that Vandy has a presser for tonight that JF will get extension and raise to over 3mil a year & upgrade to facilities. Another one to stay put. Not that I thought we were looking at him, just thought this was interesting.

A note about sources....

Sources fall into the following categories:

- Have legitimate information but protect it
- Have legitimate information and share it
- Have legitimate information but share misinformation
- Have no information but make up information to keep you interested

People who quote sources fall into the following categories:

- They are their own source and have direct access to the information
- They quote their source directly but protect the sources identity
- They color the information to provide hints in context, but don't reveal the identity of the source or the real informatino
- They make it up themselves and don't really have a source
- The reveal not only their information but the source

So considering all of this, why are we so infatuated with information provided from sources? Answer - we all want to be the first to know. Problem is that we are so desparate for that information that we will latch onto anything. Considering the complexity of the information above, is it any wonder we are duped into believing things that aren't true? is it any wonder that we don't know what to believe? Is it any wonder that we are now pointing fingers in all directions? Regardless of the answers to those questions, my conclusion is this - on this board we are dealing with all types of sources, and all types of scenarios of how people use their sources. As such, any outcome remains possible as I am certain in some part of that equation someone is using all of us to their advantage to ensure the outcome they want.
