I live in New York, but I’m an alum. People outside of Tennessee really just don’t get it.

I was working in Gatlinburg today and wearing a Power T hat. I had more people smile and head nod at me after the Currie firing than I've had in a long time. (I threw the Vol hand jesture up at 1 guy.) Life long Vol fans, especially local ones and folks that's lived here, know how big a deal today was. I'll never forget it.

Phil has got to ask: until he reels him in or until he makes Jon say no. And, though the normal practice is to never mention candidates you tried to get who told you no, this is an exception where Phil HAS to say, to us, "I had a good talk with Jon Gruden about the possibility of coaching the Vols, but it just isn't going to work out. We're moving on to other great candidates."

We will probably never hear about a Patterson, or Peterson, unless they come. But I would think Phil knows he has to acknowledge this part of the coaching hunt publicly.

Of course, that will be really easy to do if he hauls Jon in. :good!:
