Official Jon Gruden Thread XLVII

If Gruden had contacted these people before everything went to hell, Fulmer might be talking to them from the money/ contract end. :dunno:

I don't put a lot of stock in the idea that everything has to be done the traditional way, if all this prep work has already taken place. No time for that!

The University of Tennessee has to talk to Gruden to hire him. Not boosters.

I'm actually not trying to be a troll here. The only thing that gives us hope that Gruden could happen is the fact that he hasn't came out and said no. Everything else seems to indicate Fulmer is looking elsewhere. Unless I'm missing something JG doesn't seem to be a legit candidate. Am I missing something?

Yes, you're missing the astonishing power of deeply ingressed beliefs to shape an entire narrative that no amount of evidence can overturn.

Here is one, do you remember the guy wrestling the bear? Anyone know who it was?

Sounds like we're talking about the back-in-the-day Atlanta Braves now!

I met Coach K at Don's camp many many years ago, before he was "Coach K". Good man. Peyton never looked me in the eye once. Made one feel beneath him unfortunately.

That's good about Kryzyzewski. I went to school with Peyton so I saw a little different side. He was always cutting up with people back then.

It looks as though Coach is assembling an assistant staff.
IMO Gruden would assemble his own. I could be wrong

Who's to say Fulmer is not being the facilitator for Gruden and the potential candidates Gruden has approved of? Fulmer knows what he's doing and I'm confident in saying he's the perfect person for this situation. Coaches around the country respect him. Many have played for him, played against him or have served on his staff. We're in good hands. I don't know of anyone else who could step into this **** storm and achieve desirable results.

You know what I'd love to find out about the renegotiation? That what Gruden asked for was more for his assistants for their pain and suffering.

So do you think the University is going to have to pay, again, more money for Grudens previously signed MOU? Like OSU DC

I don't think that Gruden is out to punish the University. I do think that his value to the university has increased since a week ago. I also think that both Gruden and Fulmer recognize that.

You could be right. I hope you are. IMO it doesn't look like that.
