i would hope gruden wouldnt be a caddy. im a car salesman, thats the easiest vehicle to get upside down in. buy it at $70,000 and its worth about $15,000 in 3-4 years....... hope that wouldnt be indicative of how gruden would do here....

Yeah, it's pretty vague. But he is clear about this...

"I can assure you this will not impede progress on our journey to becoming a Top 25 public research university."

But just says winning championships when pertains to football, not national, not SEC, just "championships"...Cheek doesn't demonstrate the intent commitment to winning at football. He's more concerned about being a top 25 public research univ than he is a top 25 football team. Pretty sad state the football program is in. Whomever ends up the next HC is going to have to deal with this situation. If Gruden turned us down, there's no wonder.

Sounds like Jimmy Cheek is a nerd and has little to no interest in being successful at football.

Watching State Championship games this past weekend. A couple recruits in the area that are getting attention. His buddies seemed pretty fired up to see him. The conversation seemed to be ab recruits and national signing day. Nothing real special... was definitely rocking some USC swag, and kept two iphones going the entire time...

I don't know at this point. It's crazy all the stuff that's being said out there. I have gotten two calls in the last ten minutes saying that Charlie Strong has told some people he's staying at Louisville. I have not verification of that at this point.

So it could be setting for a wild afternoon.

Yes, but unfortunately, the way the system sits, with public universities, a good football program helps.

More applications when they win and donors are more free with their checkbooks. Sucks, but unless you are an elite private university, it is an evil you have to deal with.
