Still in for Gruden . But I had seen in here from the in the know posters someone said it's "not gruden but we would like it great day to be a vol " also seen they may have been 2 smoke screens media and gruden ? and that gruden helped in all of this .
and this would be one of the biggest things you have ever seen in college football.
I wish I could remember who posted these things but they may have been onto something here.

For the record, I don't recall me posting one time to disparage someone for hoping Gruden signs.
I've questioned the stance that it was a done deal, and it obviously wasnt. I also questioned posters attitudes about bailing on the team and coaches when info came about tonight regarding strong tonight. The rest is just a frustrated mob mentality of some posters that put entirely too much emotion into internet bs.

I agree, I think we'll get more denials tomorrow, followed by plans to find a coach who is coaching a bowl game, but we want to wait until they have played before contacting them, following by Hart "saving the day" by hiring Gruden, who we have had since the beginning.

The contract with ESPN is likely a lot trickier than we think, compounded with NCAA rules that may have something to say about a college coach on national tv, conflicting interests, recruiting violations, etc...

This might be a long ride, maybe until January, but I think Gruden is our coach.

I will say this - no part of me doubts that people close to the real coaching situation know about these forums. I'm not saying they actively contribute or give two ultimate damns about what we propose on here - that's the nature of the beast in sports, but they're not oblivious we exist.

I contribute to a Titans site where numerous players and high-profile analysts have admitted to viewing on a somewhat regular basis. The same can only be assumed here.

From a business perspective, purely money-driven, how do you NOT pull the trigger on going after Gruden, at pretty much any cost if he really does entertain coming? Merchandise sales would skyrocket, as would season tickets, as would advertisements through the major networks. Surely, in the chance that this doesn't go down, multiple people with high involvement will look back on this as not only a blown-venture in regards to hiring someone to bring relevance back to our program, but also a missed business opportunity that would've been one of the safest investments since buying into Apple in the late 90's.

I will happily salt and pepper my words if Gruden comes. Just when I've reconciled it may not happen, you guys have given me renewed hope.
