We just aren’t going to score a lot, again. It would have been nice of the last staff to recruit and develop a few SEC hitters.

I think it's going to be a long year. I know Maryland is a tourney type team, but we had almost no offense and I don't think we have the pitching to score only a run or two per game...it's just one game...I thought we looked unconfident in every phase.

Linginfelter not as sharp as he will be as the year goes on and a couple of the freshmen looked pretty good in short stints. However, it was startling how overmatched the hitters were tonight. Maryland's pitchers (especially the pen) were not sharp and gave the Vols several chances with walks and often being behind in the count. However, the Vols were not able to take advantage of any of these opportunities. Never really challenged the Terps at any point.

Play again tomorrow. Go Vols!
