I'm not the person to ask about pitching but he looked pretty good compared to other freshmen starting their first game to me...
Interesting...
The game means alot more to MTSU than it does to UT, weekday games dont mean a thing in college baseball. They are filler games to get your younger guys some experience, young pitchers benefit the most from weekday games. So I get it MTSU was left with a semi thinking they were going to the W in knoxville but the truth of the matter is UT just wasnt really that into it.
Not worried about non conference, take care of the in conference business and all will be right with the world
Interesting...
I counted 14 more midweek non conference games. That puts this team at 18 losses. Even if they go 2 of 3 every weekend in conference play, that puts them with 28 losses. Last year they finished with 23. While I agree midweek games are the time to work and shuffle things around, it's ridiculous to say they are unimportant.
Edit: 11 more midweek games, and 3 against Grand Canyon. But still, that's a lot of losses to not care about.
Is a .048 BA the best we can find for a DH?
The player you mentioned had been in the lead off spot until game 2 out at UCI, he was benched those final two games. By Game 3, both 1 and 2 hole hitters were replaced. The game you are talking about is a midweek game following the UCI series. CDS probably wanted to give him a shot at gaining some confidence back, pure speculation on my part.
Looks like he needs some. I was pissed the Morehead game was cancelled. I had to work in Knoxville on Wednesday and Thursday and timed my travels to coincide with the game. Got to campus at 3:55 and was welcomed by sunny skies, 73 degree weather and a practice. I rarely missed a home game in my time on the Hill but as I've gotten away from campus baseball has been harder and harder to keep up with.
An athletic outfielder, Hall served as Cumberland University's primary leadoff hitter in 2014.
While with Cumberland last season, he helped the team to its third NAIA World Series title and hit .392 with 75 runs scored in 68 games (67 starts).
