Official Nashville Predators Thread

I hope Phoenix wins it all..I like the way they play. Hustle, hustle, hustle, defense defense, defense and a hell of a goalie.

Sounds familiar doesn't it?

What we need to do is go out and get a sniper..we have play makers but we need somebody that can bury it in the back of the net when needed.

UFA:

A. Kostitsyn
Gaustad
Tootoo
Yip
McGrattan
Suter
Gill
Bouillon

RFA:

Radulov
MacLellan
S. Kostitsyn
Wilson
Weber
Hillen
Lindback

Only a couple of the unrestricted guys that I would even miss/aren't replaceable. We should keep the restricted guys. (Unless Rads wants to go back to Russia for a year)

Thanks for blowing the best chance you will ever have PREDS. I'm ashamed of this teams play in the second round. Pathetic.

I hope LA sweeps them.

It was weird to watch tonight...Pekka's goals were both soft and we have open nets and can't convert...shots go off the post...it just wasn't meant to be. The shame is this was the first year we had the talent to make a run to the finals...

I’d love to have 20 back but I’m afraid it will be too much money…and, if given a choice between resigning him (by overpaying) or not I’d rather we use that money on a FW and continue to coach our young talent along the blue line…

Other than game two, was the effort really that bad?
They had their chances and I didnt think the effort was bad at all. A puck bounce here and there and Nashville was just on the losing end of it. Some mistakes in the 2nd and 3rd defensive pairings lost a couple of games, but the effort was definitely there. This is the deepest the Preds have gotten in the playoffs and its not really something they should hang their heads about. They have a nice foundation to build on and some key FA acquisitions could put Nashville over the hump next year.

Nothing to be ashamed of. We just ran into a hot goalie, coupled with the fact we didn't cash in on chances.

I say give Suter a respectable offer and let him decide. No need to overpay for a player like him. Oh well, should be an interesting offseason. I will be pulling for PHX the rest of the way.

Good season, but losing this series is going to hurt for awhile. We just couldn't play at the level we did against Detroit. Phx got all the puck luck the last two games. It just wasn't meant to be

They are the better team. Smoother with the puck and better spaced on both ends.

I'm still learning the game, but I question line changes. I would think you play better if you know how your teammates play, and I saw guys playing with different lines last night have multiple communications issues.

It's the Trotz way. Roll 4 lines doesn't mean close equal ice time, for him it's roll 4 different lines every 5th change and "find a spark". I am such a sore loser...

I'm beginning not to like Trotz

He's an awesome guy and honestly a good coach, but I'm just aggravated and he is an easy target. We've been in the playoffs 7 straight years, and he, Legwand, Erat are the only constants.

I just would rather see 2 scoring lines, like we had with Sullivan, Arnott, Dumont... Erat, leggy,Rads.
Then a 3rd line to win faveoffs, play defense, find cheap goals.
4th line with a Pk or two, grind down the opposition, eat up some ice time.
Much better than one scorer, one guy not coming back, and one grinder on every line.

Well, always next year

It was still much better though than the previous norm of not making it out of the first round

This year hurts because of what we know it could have been. These things happen in the playoffs. Look at all the great teams that bowed out before us.The important thing is to keep moving forward and not take a step back this offseason, with or without Suter. We have stable ownership and plenty of money to spend. We'll be closer to the cap next year, according to Poile. This is just another stepping stone in our franchises growth
