Official NFCCG: 49ers @ Seahawks

My first reaction was laughter, for many reasons:

1. Sherman's excited, barely understandable babble.

2. Kanye west / Taylor swift level of awkwardness.

3. What was fox thinking? Making poor Andrews interview a super excited, Sherman mere moments after making the biggest play of his career and getting an unsportsmanlike penalty?

My first thought was not "oh no! He is going to make it look like black folks are angry!" I doubt your reaction to Harbough going nuts on the sideline was, "Oh no! He is making white folks look crazy!"

I hate when my lengthier posts get stuck on the bottom of a page.

The more disturbing thing should be the reports that Seattle fans were throwing stuff at Bowman, as he was being carted off the field.

I didn't know this. Definitely disturbing. I wonder where those fans went to college ...

Seriously though, that's beyond uncalled for.

Do you feel the same when Marshall Henderson does the same thing against the vols?

Does Richard Sherman yell in refeeres faces, flips off opposing fans, gets technicals, and has to be restrained multiple times by his coaches?

Ew. Honestly, though its a rivalry, thought Seattle fans would be better than that. Hoped at least.

Heat of the moment man, it happens. You know after a big win your mind is racing a thousand miles an hour. Would he have done it differently? Probably, as evident by how he acted in the next interview. If people turned off then they missed him acting "right" I say this as a die hard Niners fan that doesn't like Sherman.

I get heat of the moment of course. This was several minutes later.
It was his chance to be a bad man in the spotlight and he played the part.
Too bad really. It's the main discussion now. I don't do twitter, but imaging it's trending. I've seen no less than 20 various facebook posts and blogs/articles in the past few minutes. All that and the stuff coming from it on any side of the debate wasn't necessary and he brought it all on with his selfish act.

Richard Sherman is now a bad person? Really?

Off/on topic. I like grunge music. That may factor into who I pull for in the superbowl.

Yes, I will be that arbitrary with this decision.

What does that matter as long as he gets his degree and is the best at what he does?

He did not reference any religions or offend anybody.

Richard Sherman doesn't hurt his team with his actions like Henderson does.

And again, Henderson is a criminal.

Fair. But as long as he does provide effort in the community and outreach to youth, I think the role model aspect is fulfilled. Doesn't have to be limited to that one interview.

Unfortunately that is overshadowed by interviews like this

exactly right, but you and I aren't everybody. Though I have to admit when a toothless, uneducated redneck from Tn is on the regional or national news, I either laugh or shake my head in disgust and wish they wouldn't have fed the stereotype, for instance, that some people may have of the south.
Whether you or anyone else wants to admit it, his actions opened up the door for racists to have another platform and say "look and watch this" and it didn't need to be that way

like to think he cares more about the actual community outreach than the perception of it from an Erin Andrews interview.

i'm reminded of Iverson backlash.
