Official NFL Playoffs Thread

It's one of my favorite times of the year! Looking at the field, I'm not sure there's a clear cut favorite in either conference. I do think Peyton and the Broncos will make it to The Meadowlands. I know the defense is spotty but it's just my gut feeling. Peyton is on a mission.

I'll be rooting for a Denver-Green Bay Super Bowl. I want to see a Manning/Rodgers matchup.

I would gladly take that matchup, if we can orchestrate it. The Packers are the only playoff team with a lower-ranked scoring defense than the Broncos. GB is 25th (428 pts.), whereas Denver is 22nd (399 pts.).

That would explain why ticket sales are very slow:

Thousands of unsold seats at Lambeau Field - ESPN

3 games may be blacked out locally.

I enjoy watching cold weather games and games played in brutal elements like driving rain and blizzard like conditions, but I could never sit through that as a fan. The worst conditions I've ever experienced was at the UT-Memphis game in 2000 when it was 40 degrees in Memphis and pouring rain.

How well do people think Chip Kelly's offense would be working without McCoy? I gotta be honest, I thought he would crash and burn in the NFL, but so far the result is good.

Weather.com (Green Bay Weekend Weather Forecast - weather.com) is currently projecting a high Sunday of 0 and an overnight low of -18. With Aaron Rodgers back and it would appear that Ice Bowl II may be imminent, how many of you would pick the Packers over the 49ers in this game? Personally, I would like to see Green Bay win this one; their defense is just as porous as the Broncos' and, should it come to that, I like Peyton's chances against the Pack better than against a top defense like the 49ers or Seahawks.

People were so hung up on the flashiness of his offense at Oregon, they missed the basic principles of it.

He employs a power run game mixed with spread and play action elements. ...that's it.

The offense would be set back without a guy like McCoy but he also has a tendency to see his own path instead of following the blocks. He's good enough to get away with it but Brown and Polk are good fit for it as well.

Bearcat, I thought about bumping the Bryce Brown thread last week. I guess let the goodwill of the season get in the way.

NFL has given extension deadlines to Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Green Bay to sell out their games in order to not be blacked out. The extension is until Friday. I would say Cincy and Green Bay have excuses due to weather. Indianapolis does not.

The Greatest Comeback in playoff history between the Buffalo Bills and Houston Oilers was blacked out in Buffalo. All those local fans missed out in one of the best games.

As a Broncos fan, I need KC to win. Denver matches up better with KC than Indy. Also, I need someone to beat NE next weekend.

That was ridiculous. How do you fumble that?

It's funny watching all the butthurt about a player contribute to their expert assessment that a player will bust in the NFL.......like Darick.
