And I have company from Memphis coming next week.

Make them pay for the game... it'll definitely be their/our treat....

UNDER PRESSURE AINGE SUCKS

Ainge just plain old sucks. Have the frosh QB ready for next year and forget this one.

It's over :mf_surrender:

forfeit the last 3 games...deny any possible bowl invite....give memphis , kentucky and vandy a gift. This teams done, if not from the players performance or coaching....from the outright luck. This team could screw up a 2 car funeral procession......

I don't think it's so much that Ainge sucks as that he hasn't figured out how to swallow

that big lump he gets in his throat under pressure. Thanks for the coaching.

Well guys, we got next year to look forward...we'll pack up and travel to a crappy bowl game because we're loyal and support our team through thick and thin and come out next year and be back to old form

Its one thing to surrender when the enemy is on the front line. Its another when they have been drinking your beer for 6 weeks.

You sure about that? At this point, I'm not calling any of our last three a "sure-thing."

I'm heading out to Krispy Kreme. I'm suddenly craving an assortment of 2 dozen donuts. Damm you Phil.

I am beginning to think that a bowl game will just add insult to injury. People always say that the practice time is invaluable, but the sooner we get through this season, and make the necessary staff changes the better off we will be.

Lets just win these last three and hit the reset button.

I didn't realize we had so many French Vol fans.  Seen an awful lot of white surrender flags today.  Surrender hell!

I sure hope the team doesn't surrender. As bad as I feel now a loss to Peabody or Kentucky will be unbearable.

Well, my 2nd team is Memphis, and I can tell you right now that if the TN team that showed up tonight shows next Saturday, we'll get a sort've embarrassing win.

Think UAB, only the MOV will be higher- and they'll/ we'll likely put up more big plays on us/y'all.

With former WR turned Safety turned QB Avery behind center, and the best back in CF this year DeAngelo Williams running & catching the ball, the Tigers will definitely put some embarrassment on UT. That said, the UT D is far, far too good to allow anything but big plays, and I don't think Memphis has the level of D to bring the boyly-girl Ainge out.

As crappy as the 4th quarter was, we should feel good about the fact that we went toe to toe with the team that had the defending NC on the ropes and needed a fortunate spot to pull out the W. It took 8 games but PF finally figured out you cant put a Frosh returning punts. The special teams has let us down in 3 games now that were very winable. I just hope this year doesn't kill the recruiting. Food for thought: In '03 Auburn was ranked #1 preseason and went 8-5 and the year after went 13-0 and should have played for the NC.

I disagree. UT played a good game tonight. Minus special teams. We will beat Memphis. The run for Deangelo will be nill to none. I think we pull it out. Hell, I'll go as far and say Arian puts up more yardage than Williams. Our D is too tough for them. :matrix:

That's pretty much what I said, though maybe I wasn't clear enough because I was feeling forced to play both sides at once, USAFV.

The only thing I disagree with you on is Arian vs DeAngelo. That's pretty much like comparing the Memphis D to the TN D. Though the UT D's vast superiority to the UM O line will control Williams for the most part, Williams will still make more big plays. Foster (and his O line) will not get the big plays Williams will, just more consistent yardage. Plus, remember, Williams is the NCAA All-Purpose Yards leader, so we're talking occaisional big plays out of him by more than just rushing.

Again, if tonight's UT shows up, TN will win big. That said, the Tigers will log enough big plays- and maybe scores- to make the win less of a happy event for folks who look at more than final scores.

IOW, just like ND fans shouldn't be celebrating a huge win tonight just because of the score, I predict that the UT-UM game will be a win that Vols ought to celebrate out loud and privately bitch about quietly to themselves. UM won't force any goofiness out of UT like good teams have, especially Ainge, but they will rack up enough big plays to make us look worse than we should.

I hate when they make my palms sweaty. Good point MemphisVol. He will probably make a few big plays that we may regret. Too bad it had to come down to that.
