Be nice to have problems like Self. Wiggins , Embiid, Greene, Mason, Frankamp coming in.
Did they top KY with this class?

Would be a nice problem, but still a problem no matter how talented the freshman are, ask Kentucky.

As for topping UKs class, wasn't even class, that was the best ever on paper.

Since the thread is "official prediction thread", I predict Looney decides to wear Orange and TN ends up with a top 5 recruiting class.

26-5 (14-4) 3 possible 2 seed, elite 8 bound. Hopefully in Duke's bracket, cause we know the committee loves them. :) Of course this lies mostly with Maymon being 100% and Barton being the player we hope. If both of those happen, and IF Hubbs lives up to the hype...look out, could be a special year. IMO

25-6 (14-4)

Losses: one at the B4A, @Wichita state, @UK, @Mizzou, @Bama, @UF

Finish around 8-10 in the ap poll
2nd place sec regular season
SEC tourney champs (we avenge our regular season loss to UK by beating them in the finals)
Undefeated at home
3 seed in the ncaa tourney
Elite 8

BTO, what kind of team is Xavier supposed to have this year? That could be a tough game on the road, especially with it being the opener.

Jeff Goodman has them 5th in the BE

5. Xavier Musketeers

It wasn't a typical Xavier season in 2012-13 after coach Chris Mack lost Tu Holloway and Kenny Frease to graduation, Mark Lyons to Arizona and Dez Wells to Maryland. Still, the Musketeers managed to win 17 games and finish 9-7 in the Atlantic 10. Now it's a new league, and Mack has more talent on hand. It all starts with Semaj Christon, who could be the best point guard in the conference. He'll have more help this season with the addition of big man Matt Stainbrook, who lost about 30 pounds sitting out last season following a transfer from Western Michigan.

Xavier returns juniors Dee Davis and Justin Martin, and senior Isaiah Philmore. They also add Myles Davis and Jalen Reynolds, both of whom were ineligible last season. The Musketeers have a star and enough depth, but the key might be whether Stainbrook can become a force in the paint.

Glad the start of the SEC schedule isn't as tough as it has been. The first 6 conference games last year was rough, and I think it was tough the year before. Starting out 1-5 is not fun.

Now that the full schedule is released we can all do our oh so accurate season predictions, here's the schedule:

11/2: vs. Florida Southern (exhibition)

11/12: @ Xavier
11/16: vs. USC Upstate
11/18: vs. Citadel
11/22: vs. Tennessee State
11/28: vs. UTEP (B4A Rd 1)
11/29: vs. TBD (B4A Rd 2)
11/30: vs. TBD (B4A Rd 3)
12/7: vs. Tennessee Tech
12/14: @ Wichita State
12/18: vs. NC State
12/23: vs. Morehead State
12/30: vs. Virginia
1/4: vs. Tusculum
1/7: @LSU
1/11: vs. Texas A&M
1/15: vs. Auburn
1/18: @Kentucky
1/22: vs. Arkansas
1/25: @ Florida
1/29: vs. Ole Miss
2/1: @Alabama
2/5: @Vanderbilt
2/8: vs. South Carolina
2/11: vs. Florida
2/15: @Missouri
2/18: vs. Georgia
2/22: @Texas A&M
2/26: @Mississippi State
3/1: vs. Vanderbilt
3/5: @Auburn
3/8: vs. Missouri

I agree with your prediction except for the UK game. I think we'll win in Rupp in a close one. Remember, they're still going to be really young and they might not be as good as many people think regardless of their recruiting class.

Should be an exciting opening game for us. Hopefully we can pull out the W.

Well, Stokes did predict that he would win at Rupp before he leaves TN. This will be his last chance.

He's trying to say that Stokes is projected as a top 20 pick by most. Thus far, I've seen this article and a bleacher report article.

I was just confused with placement and timing...nobody was talking about stokes draft stock, we were discussing the season records prediction, just wasn't sure if he meant to link an ESPN season prediction or something.

As for that link...I am shocked at Stokes being so high and see no way he goes top 20 in next years draft. If he goes top 20 I'm guessing we likely had the best year in Tennessee history though so ill keep my fingers crossed. I think McRae is a bit low, I think he and stokes meet somewhere in the middle.

Kind of surprised that you think we'll lose to LSU. I know they'll have more talent this year but I still think we win that game.

26 - 5

That's a best case essentially. Realistically I think we lose a game or two we shouldn't. So I'd put us between 24 - 7 and 26 - 5.

Book that ish

Losing to NC State at home would be BAD

Losing to State at home and then beating Virginia twelve days later seems highly improbable. N C State will probably be among the bottom five in the conference while Virginia ought to be among the top five ACC teams.
