It's really come to this. Tennessee is an SEC baseball team in name only.

Truth.

This is embarrassing. And are our stands as completely empty in person as they are on TV? When they show the pitcher it looks like the entire right side (closest to Neyland) is empty.

No. There were alot of people there for a Thursday night game. Most people were on the first base side meandering around the new concourse. Also, alot of students there. People never sit in the left field bleachers unless there is a crowd over 2000, the new seats are much better.

Somebody should check on firestorm. :)

I'm here watch the game at Brick House Tavern and Tap I was compeltely wrong about game one as the Vols did the exact opposite of what I predicted.
Awful April for the Vols continues now 0-5, and for the 4th straight division series they lose the 1st game.
2nd straight week pressure will be on Gruver to win game two against top dog SEC East team.

this is the final year of his contract, under no circumstances will he be resigned. chris burke would work for hardly anything, if he were to get the job. ctr is history no matter what !!

For the third time, this is NOT the final year of Raleigh's contract. He signed a five year deal when hired, this is the fourth year. At the end of the season, he will either remain or be bought out.

As far as Chris Burke, nice guy, like him, but a struggling program like ours doesn't need someone that has never coached before at any level. There is no way to justify a hire like that.

you want me to take a crack at predicting the next two games.

i have a feeling i have a greater chance of success with my prediction.

there's a really, really good chance tennessee won't have 10 conference wins.

Not if they keep playing the way they are.

Watching Baseball Tonight right now the Vols are the Red Sox of College Baseball same problems failure to produce critical hits, frustration, and both have not won a game in April.

The students were there for the Home Run Inning promotion. As soon as the sixth was over, it looked like a fire drill leaving the stadium.

No, the Red Sox have star quality players who are simply struggling out of the gate. Tennessee, on the other hand, has mediocre to bad players performing to their abilities.

Yes but can't deny both have the same problem of losing right now.

Game 2 can be seen on UTSports.

UTSports said there were 3450 in attendance. Absoulutely ludicrous. Trying to get people to the park.

Well, getting our asses whipped 4-0, not very surprised.

My buddy on the team just keeps confirming the same thing over and over for the past 3 years, that Raleigh is a ****ing joke.

You wouldn't believe some of the **** he has told me about that goon.
I have a good friend who is the father of a former player and the things he told me .... Just had to shake my head. I was always wanting to give Rollie Pollie a chance, but he treats some of the boys (not all) as though they were sub human. I felt terrible for my friends son who put up with that crap.RP was lucky that this dad didn't unleash on him.

have you lost your mind? maybe my perspective is skewed because of the baseball i get a chance to witness.

besides the big 3 in the state of florida, i see all the smaller florida schools play. i see other schools play throughout the acc and sec.

tennessee does not have players. period.

i don't know how old or young tennessee's roster is, but i can use florida as an example of how youth is not an excuse as their whole weekend starting rotation and a lot of their regular lineup are not draft eligible following this season.

tennessee has two pretty good starters in catapano and gruver. the rest of the staff is mediocre at best and horrible at worst.

most of the lineup has warning track power. the lineup has some speed, but that doesn't matter when you can't get on base to begin with.

this isn't a quality club that will snap out of it and turn it around.

went and looked this up from secsports.com.....

in sec games.

tennessee is last in batting avg, slugging pct, on base pct, runs scored, rbi's, and are second to last in hits, walks and total bases

tennessee is also second to last in era, opponent's batting avg, and hits allowed. they are last in walks allowed and home runs allowed.

There was also a Greek attendance challenge that contributed to the student attendance. You're right about the Home Run Inning, though. Once someone wins and the total drops back down to $100, you can expect most students to stop showing up.
