Official Tennessee at MTSU Game Day Thread - 7PM

starting to get ugly my friends........have to take 2 out of three this weekend or the lady is heading to the stage. Still have time but time is quickly running out.

We have to get 4-6 over the next 2 weekends, even still this midweek loss is ugly for the overall record...total lack of pride from these players.

9 walks, 3 wild pitches, 1 passed ball...no hits from the top of the line-up

Belmont beats Vandy 3-2

Presbyterian beats SC 7-4

Ark. Little Rock beats Mizzou 4-3

FSU beats UF 4-3

WKU beats UK 5-3

Everyone else won or was postponed...weird season.

RPI drops to 61, 11 points down from where we started the day and 20 points down from last week. MTSU gets a 2 point boost.

I don't know what's wrong but these guys aren't showing any heart at all. 2/3 of that MTSU roster is Tennessee kids and they played pissed and this game mattered to them.

I don't sweat mid week games usually, but I don't like what I saw tonight. It's easy to sit here and be an armchair coach and second guess after the fact but...

I'd give these juniors this next series and if they don't win it, I'd make them watch the rest of the season from the pine.

MTSU beats Tennessee, solves midweek woes

"It just goes to show that MTSU is the place to go if you want to be a big-time college baseball player," MTSU designated hitter Kaleb King said about beating Tennessee. "If you want to be a part of a big-time program with a lot of tradition, everybody thinks of Tennessee when you think tradition and all that kind of stuff, but MTSU is right there with them."

It was the sixth win for MTSU (20-16) over UT (15-17) in seven tries. The victory also ended an eight-game losing streak for MTSU in midweek games on the year.

"It's big because it's against Tennessee, but it's even bigger because that it's a midweek win," MTSU coach Jim McGuire said.

When Serrano took over, the promise of change lured some good prospects. Now, its three plus years later and this bus is going nowhere. How does he get them to come now? The promise of getting drilled in a fancy, smancy home field?

His ship has sailed here, if we have to put up with him another year then so be it. But the deal with Searrano is he took over decent ball clubs in mediocre conferences and took advantage of west coast cali recruiting. The SEC is to big for him and I would say they have a talent evaluation problem.

Post game is up...two questions, lol...took me longer to open a beer and a bag of chips.

Vols Fall Short at Middle Tennessee, 7-5 - UTSPORTS.COM - University of Tennessee Athletics

:eek:lol: But, really, what is there to say. Feel sorry for DS.
I'm sure he doesn't get it either, and, he keeps making changes and nothing seems to work. Really...sad. What's weirder to me is we still have a chance (albeit, slim) for Hoover...go figure. In the immortal words of somebody I could never stand..."just win baby".

GO BIG ORANGE!
