Yes. ESPN said Pearl was worried about Chism picking up early fouls guarding Ogelsvie, who is known to attack the rim. Pearl wanted Chism to watch the first foul of the game, as opposed to committing the first foul of the game.

So far it appears to have worked. Williams had three early rebounds, and we saw what Chism did off the bench.
