I didn't get to see any of the series. It sounds like we played well but couldn't get over the hump to win one. Is that right or am I reading the updates incorrectly?
Kids gave it all they had. Just not good enough. Credit to aTm. Better team in every regard. Hate to say it, but it really does appear the sand it about thru the hour glass on this season. I've said it several times before, but I'm really surprised to see UT baseball where it is right now at this point in Serrano's coaching tenure in Knoxville. Was convinced he'd have had us in much better shape by now. I'm a Vol fan no matter what, but my confidence in this staff has been shaken by this season.
I have watched Tennessee Baseball all of my adult life and I still believe that Serrano is the right guy to do the job but this team just seems to have been snake-bit the entire time Serrano has been in charge. I'm beginning to believe that the problem may just be Bergeron. I can't remember any Tennessee teams in the past 35 years that seem to blow so many chances to score runs. He is the guy in charge of the offensive aspect of the game and that sure seems to be a BIG problem. I hope Serrano gets this shipped turned in the right direction. I bought into all the stuff about the early cancelled games hurting the team but that is no longer an excuse. There is no way those guys should have gotten out of that bottom of the 8th inning without at least tying the game. Think about it, It was bases loaded with no one out after we scored the run on Stewart's single. From that point on, it was still ZERO runs in a bases loaded, no out situation. If I had to guess, I would say that 75% of ALL college level baseball teams get another run in that situation but this team seems to manage to sqaunder the chance over and over. Still love the Vols and can't wait to get in town to watch teh Mississippi State series in person.
Had a lot of hope for this season.. but yet again, more disappointment. Really disappointed in Serrano's coaching ability, what a hugh disappointing let down..

I've questioned our offensive strategy many times this year but offense wasn't our problem this weekend. We just put up 13 runs in 3 games against a top team that was giving up an average of 3 runs per game.
How often do you score 7 runs in the SEC and lose?
