Official Texas A&M vs South Carolina Game Thread!!!

Still...bad weather, Thursday night game vs Temple and it's televised? In all seriousness, my guess is there will be less than 18,000 people in the stands regardless of what the announced attendance is.

I stand corrected, I see it's been pushed back. Had no idea the weather was bad. I'm 30 miles south of Nashville and weather here is perfect, just humid as hell.

My point was SC just started lining up and throwing hail marys when they were down in the first half and kicking that dumb onside kick when they should have just played better D and pounded the ball. That is their strength.

It wouldn't appear that D is their strength.

You sure about that?

UT was our SEC opener for two decades, and Spurrier lost to you guys a couple of times.

Kind of, but it looks like up until maybe around the middle of the 90s UF was playing either Alabama or Kentucky first before going into the UT game.

Man, SC's D sucks. I mean, I know the kid played with confidence and was under control but most of the time these guys were completely wide open.

LSU normally only sent 3-4 players in after Johnny. TAM does have better guys on the outside now though. Your front 3-4 guys have to be able to get some pressure on the QB, but man that was probably the worse D performance since LSU stunk it up against Florida in 2008.

Most yards ever against a SCAR team. Their defense is water against A&M's offense.

To me that was borderline fire the DC the day after material. TAM's D was bad last year... that bowl game I was like WTH is that.

Not sure what to make of that game, all I know unless something changes SC might have a rough year.

I actually thought TAM is one of the easier schemes to handle once you get use to the tempo and speed.

I chalk it up to Hill actually running the offense as it was meant to be run, spreading the ball around to multiple receivers and only running when necessary.

Manziel gave up on plays and ran when he had receivers running free, and he keyed on Evans more than the other receivers.

Hill made SCarolina defend the entire field, and they couldn't.

If last nite was any indication, the SEC East could be a steaming pile of crap this year. Unless Mason steps up big for UGA, or Muschamp sells his soul to the devil in exchange for offensive competency, the SEC title game could be between the 1st and 5th or 6th best teams in the conference.

Sad but true.

They couldn't defend anything of the WRs, I mean within 1 to 1.5 seconds 2-3 guys were wide open every play.

Maybe so, you do make some valid points.

I generally find TAM rather easy to scheme against, not so much Oregon.... one dimensional even though you think it's very complex. I actually look at Oregon as a running team.

If you can't defend the WR screen against TAM, its going to be a long day... by the 2nd Quarter the CBs should not only be able to stop it, they should be getting negative plays out of those... if not its going to be a long day.

We'll see. Hill was poised, I thought some of the TD passes were very nice but 85% of the throws I could have made after drinking a couple of beers.

Hoping I don't eat crow on this one later in the season. :) I just thought it was horrible D.

I'll take a beatdown in ATL if we can somehow fall ass backwards into the title game.

Hill's two TD passes in the 2nd quarter were NFL throws...absolute frozen ropes.

He looked sharp for sure. He's got a lot of talent to distribute to, which as another poster said already, made it difficult for them to defend. That is what that offense is supposed to look like. What we ran before was basically "1st and Johnny".

Most proud of our defense. They've been hearing how bad they are all summer.

I am not sure that game was an indication either way, basically SC was forced to play TAM ball as SC's D was non-existent. If SC was able to get even or the lead it would have been a different ball game. SC really didn't have issues with moving the ball, its just not their game. Spurrier really didn't have an option but to chunk it, they were actually pretty successful to me.

TAM's D did capitalize on the INT which stopped the momentum in the 4th.

We'll see, either way it was a great victory to go in there and do that... that looked like a hostile environment.

The problem is now, we really don't see TAM play until October really. I will say the WR corp is improved even after losing the big guy.

Glad at have an Aggie here on the Volnation forum.

Welcome to the forum...(and the SEC) even though you've been a poster on this board for a while now.

You have a good one there. He's the type of QB that offense was made for.

Hearing Spirrier's post game ripping the new 3-4 defense gave me Sal Sunseri flashbacks.
