Is Ollie Lane coming back?

I believe so if my math is right. I had to go back and look because I wasn't sure about him when I posted. He was listed on the roster this year as a redshirt Sr. He was class of 2018 and redshirted that fall. That left 19, 20, 21 and 22 for eligibility. With the Covid year, he should be able to play next season.

He gave us some good minutes at Guard in relief and didnt See much drop off. I could see him competing for Carvin’s vacated spot if he returns.

According to the guys at VQ, they're not actively pursuing a Qb. I sounds like they want help at DL, WR, and CB.

I also think that a big bruiser RB might garner some attention, someone like MAFAH from clemson if he decides to leave (pure speculation on my part).
Any predictions on the two DL and one WR announcing today?

CB's currently in portal or awaiting late window?

Whether you recruit them, or portal them, my unheralded philosophy is you can never have enough OL/DL. Life in the trenches is brutal. and proper talent and proper coaching, they take so much heat off the other positions and make their jobs quite easier. Sure, you want top notch LB's, or DB's you can't torch with a paper match. But, inferior linemen, or a lack of capable reserve bodies, and your dead at the gates. There's not a HOF college running back or QB or receiver in all of college football that did it without a A+ line.

AP said he feels like Tennessee is the team to beat for both Thorton and Norman-Lott. He is a little more iffy on Campbell, but leans to the good guys for him.

Some people are saying Davon Sears too, but I haven't heard the VQ staff say anything about him so I'm not sure where that stands.

Unfortunately, I haven't heard anyone or anything about a portal CB yet, and trust me, I have been waiting with bated breath for one to show up on the radar.

My biggest problem is I have zero idea of how many spots we REALLY have to offer to stay at 85 in the fall. I have been surprised by the lack of known CB targets to date. BUT BUT BUT.... I bet there is a plan and I am GUESSING that somebody in ORANGE has been winking at some CBs out there. Some that might be wanting the market to settle post signing day to get some NIL opportunities. Sure seems like it should be a priority.

There is another visiting weekend next weekend. Hopefully Gabe Jeudy-Lally decides to visit. He's a big CB and Pili's teammate. He played at Vandy before transferring to BYU, so he has SE experience. I think he graduated too but not 100% on that one. His stats are pretty good too.

My biggest wish is that the staff likes our incoming guys and are looking for a short term mentor like this guy. Would not turn down a multi-year guy however. Attaining and stabilizing a roster depleted like ours was upon arrival can be tough.

It can't be anything other than tough. We are trying to build an SEC championship roster from dirt and water.

It was mentioned yesterday by a supposed insider on VQ..a 6'2 CB from BYU via Vandy is gonna transfer here. Would be a solid pickup.
