I was not judging anyone for their situation. Those kids were not instinctively dropping to the ground they were dropping to the ground trying to be funny. Like it is cool to be around gun play.

I dont think they did it like it was Cool to be around gun play.....maybe more along the lines of trying just to be funny because it sounded like a gun...

Some of these kids grow up in neighborhoods where they do hear guns a lot and I would duck my head too...

That's something I don't laugh at. seeing my good friend drop and cover during a firework display after returning from Iraq was one of the saddest things I have seen. They could have been joking. but it's still not funny to me

Iraq and the projects are two totally different things, true. But don't think some of these guys don't have the instinct of taking cover when they hear loud noises

that's not being sensitive. And don't bring up a race card in this!! I never said that. When you got to have another player pick you up of the ground telling you they are fireworks that's when you know it wasn't a joke

At this point I don't care what players Florida gets. They are going to get their fair share of talent. All I care is about the talent that we bring in and if it's somewhat comparable.

When Meyer admitted his health problems and his LOA our coaching staff smelled blood in the water. You think they worked hard before you haven't seen anything yet. While Meyer is taking in the sun on the beach this summer this staff will double their efforts. In the end the sharks will win.

Course you realize that will probably be florida still...

Excited about the players we have coming to k ville next season... even tho none made a great impact on the game


I think too much emphasis is put on how these high schoolers play in these all star games. Imagine how nervous these kids are, many are playing in their first game that is nationally televised and not getting to play a full game doesn't give a solid indication on how they will perform at the next level. But it is impressive just to be invited to the game.

What is great is that our staff is really addressing the needs of our class. They are getting the Dlinemen squared away. O line sounds like it is shaping up well. WR needs are more than met. We have a QB that has the best upside of any QB in the class and maybe the most accurate and is the perfect height for our system. If we don't get the number 1 class, we are getting exactly what we need to fit our system.

If we can get some LBs for Monte, a solid/phenomenal RB, another playmaker in the secondary...we are golden.

Joking or not until you've wokin up with that sound not knowing whether it was a dream or whether you are being over run with enemy fire. I don't really think it's something you are qualified to joke about. I don't post very often but don't act like you wouldn't s$it your pants if you had gone through what some of these kids or the soldiers that let you sleep soundly at night have gone through if you heard something that took you backto a bad place.

Could be, but I still think the Meyer situation is going to be something that is going to hurt the Gators.

For one, you can't coach against the coaches in this league for a limited amount of time. Not while your rivals are out there busting their tails. Does Addazio running the Gators during the off season really strike fear in anyone?

Second, if he decides to come back full time he is going to jeopardize his health and his relationship with his family, especially his wife. IMO this will create even more stress on himself.

The chances of all this working out for him has a very low probablity.
