Turner going to USC is not a huge loss for the program. Every year the WR position is deep and there will be a dozen more Turner's next year. This guy has talent but he played on a 2A sized High School in TN and did not win a state championship. I don't think his competition was as strong as some of the larger 4A or 5A schools in the state. If he was the #2 WR recruit in the nation, he should have been the difference maker in a championship for his HS.

Now the Miami kid Phillips is another story. DB's are not a quick to be impact players but from reading on this guy, he could start immediately. This skill position is more important to UT.

I read in the Tennessean today that Turner was back in San Antonio to recieve a trophy from Rivals.com for being the MVP of practice for the High School game. This guy does nothing in the actual game but he gets a trophy for practice? These accolades and hoopla surrounding these recruits have gotten a little out of hand.

I can't fault Turner for going to USC since they ae back-to-back champs. It's easy to choose if you say you want to be w/ a winner. I hope he is happy but I wonder when he'll get a chance to play. It would be nice though to keep in-state guys.

#1 DT in the nation... Demarcus Granger- 6'3'', 315, 4.9 40 is leaning somewhat towards UT

Here's a pretty funny story.

WR Fred Rouse is set to commit to Miami U tonight, all to lead them on and sign with FSU on signing day.

Apparently Rouse is not happy with the way LB Willie Williams led FSU on before signing with the Canes, so he is one upping him by actually commiting and then turning around and signing with the Seminoles.

Rouse is an FSU commit, just playing around with Miami after what Willie Williams did last year.

CB Bryan Evans has committed to UGA. UT is still in the running for CB Derek Pegues though(UT,Ole Miss, Miss St.). WR O.J. Murdock (4-star) has UT and South Carolina as his leaders. DT DeMarcus Granger made a surprise visit to Oklahoma St. this weekend. UT gets his last visit next weekend. I think he will go to UT or Oklahoma.

I don't think we have much of a shot at any of those guys, do you?

I read somewhere that Granger is going to announce before he visits UT. If that is true, we probably won't get him.
