Ok, watched all of Green Bay vs Cleveland State

Couple big things against Green Bay.

1. You cannot over dribble. If you over dribble they will make you pay and take the ball away. Have to make a good decision and a good pass.

2. Make a good ball fake on everything. They were jumping everything in this game and CS never adjusted. Big ball fake and that is going to be a foul more often than not.

3. We have to shut down the middle of the paint. No easy cutters and no free catches in the high post. CS never adjusted and allowed McNeal to cut untouched to the mid-paint logo for a jumper about a dozen times. Post player is going to have to step up on that and send it to half court if she does catch there. Ideally her defender needs to bump her on the cut and make it hard for her on the catch all night. She’s not a very big or physical player. Someone like Sarah could really frustrate her with her size and strength.

4. We need to score quick in transition or the secondary break within our offense. No sense letting them get their defense set really well. They play as a unit, communicate, get their hands on passes and play the passing lanes. If we can advance the ball quickly and get it to the rim it will be 2 pts, a foul or both.

5. Our guards need to attack them off the bounce. They do not have the foot speed or size to guard someone like Spear. They don’t go very deep so if we were to get a couple of their better guards in some foul trouble it wouldn’t hurt.

Except that Emily really came on strong this season. I still maintain she had the best hands, and softest touch around the rim, of any post player we'd had in a long time. She just lacked quickness.
ONE about Emily her shot was not bad at Tennesse.
She needed work on defense . Not sure did she get a late start playing basketball?
Think she needed minutes as do All players do to get better

6 seed, better than expected. Green Bay and then NC St (most likely) as the path back to the Sweet 16 also looks better than expected--not easy by any means but well within the realm of possibility.

Playing in North Carolina should get both the women's and men's programs some future recruits from the state.

TN plays GB at noon, on Saturday, on ESPN. Let the games begin!

GLV!!!

A noon tipoff is perfect! The players and staff recently talked about how much more they preferred playing early than late, and they recently played MUCH better in early games, so I think starting off the tourney like this bodes well for them.

I'm super excited for them! (and us!)

Carly Thibault-DuDonis is going to be a hot coaching name this offseason Is she ready for the P5 jump or WNBA

I think she stays in the college ranks unless maybe the Indiana job opens up? Who wouldn’t like an opportunity to coach a team with Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston.

Woke up and thought maybe I dreamed it. Finally we get to have nice things again. Of course NC st at home is tough but when you look at the alternatives, this is ideal.

LSU totally paying for cupcake preseason plus committee trying to make sure CC vs Angel happens again. Blunder can’t be thrilled either. Well deserved all.

Yo must be hot and kinda you can see how we could have been them and they could be us. But no way Dawn was having us in her region.

With this draw, there’s at least a chance of a decent run. Love the early game and the relatively easy first rounder since long layoffs seem to make us rusty.

Committee’s love for a storyline is out in the open across all brackets. Plus regional fan travel was a factor and so all hail Deer Park who was 100% correct about that.

LSU at a 3 seed I wouldn’t say is paying. Seems like a Sweet Spot, no matter if a 2 or 3, still get the same path. Storylines are almost predictable to how it all falls. LSU/Iowa….Barnes vs Texas

Good scouting report. Can you send this to our coaching staff. Sounds like a team that could beat us without a good game plan and we don't want that to happen. Hope our girls can make a deep run into the tournament.

Andraya Carter picked Texas in the bracket. So is it because ESPN hates Tennessee or she isn't a VFL?

She's being realistic. Vic versus a coach who let the opponent make a perfect inbounds pass with 1.1 seconds left. Even though Vic lost his starting star point guard earlier in the season, he's got Texas as a #1 seed.
