Soooo we feeling better? Worse?
Both. So close to beating NC ST, but then NC ST beats Stanford, always a big win. So our loss does not look so bad, but wanted a shot at Stanford. A TN win over Stanford would have been epic. We are in the mix, and we are close, (proved that against SC).
Yeah the gawking over KiKi I after that game in here lmaoOh, we can spin the results regardless to paint our coaches in a negative light.
When NC State wasn't scoring. It just showed how bad our defense is.
When State fought back to win, it just proved that we could have beaten Stanford.
Never mind that State beat Stanford worse than us (Stanford never could get close during the fourth quarter whereas our game was very tight as the end) despite Stanford's all-time winningest coach, 1st team All American, and 41-point scorer.
It's like when we played SC closer than anyone else this season. It all just goes to show that we aren't even in the same universe as any of the third-round teams.
Espec bc Sparks center Azuri Stevens just had arm surgery and will be out for 12 weeks. They'll need a center more than ever. I'd ddef take Kamilla over Brink if that is the choice. So with that said, I predict LA ends up taking Kamilla at #2 based on need, with Rickea to Chicago at 3 and Brink at 4. Possibly Rickea at 2 and Kamilla at 3, but I do think both with last longer in the W than Brink.
Wow, I didn't know Azura was injured! Yeah they seriously need a big asap.Espec bc Sparks center Azuri Stevens just had arm surgery and will be out for 12 weeks. They'll need a center more than ever. I'd ddef take Kamilla over Brink if that is the choice.
That said, the Sparks scouted Rickea's games more than any other team (unless Cora missed something) and it's hard to believe that was for their #4 pick.
We don’t need any credit for a loss, it’s not a big deal anymore we are out of the tournament. The disrespect from the media continues. Just read a wrapup of the IU-SC game calling the 79-74 win "their closest margin of the season." This was from a Yahoo contributor who covers WCBB and the WNBA.
Much later in the piece, toward the end, she mentioned the close call against Tennessee that came down to "the last possession" but never mentioned the score or margin.
It was mostly a fluff piece praising SC with the focus being on how they find ways to win, but still disappointing to see us not getting a little more credit. No moral victories indeed.
Nothing is guaranteed until the teams pick, these so called experts are mostly wrong anyway. One good (for us) possible outcome of Stanford's demise is that Cameron Brink's "guaranteed #2 draft pick" status is up in the air after fouling out twice in a row, with players like Rickea and Kamilla looking more favorable in hindsight. Foul trouble can be worked on, but she won't have that long of a leash in the WNBA.
