This is the first time I have ever heard it be stated that you can legally elbow a defender in the nose if they are too close to you, but okay.I saw it and no, it was not a foul. The defender had her face about 5 inches in front of the offensive player (in her space). The offensive player was holding the ball above her head when she pivoted. Yes the elbow did hit the nose but the offensive player did not bend the arm trying to hit the defender with her elbow. The arm was still basically straight holding the ball with both hands.
