Official what games to pay attention to thread...

Just as a side. This thread might set a record for the longest thread I have ever seen that actually was about the original topic and not just an out of control flame war.

Probably just brought the jinx fairy. Sorry

Then you have to consider if they were at home or on the road. I think Miami beat Duke at Cameron. That will carry a lot of weight. I think when it gets down to the very last few teams it stops being about who you lost to and instead becomes about "can you beat a tourney team.". All of the last 4 at large teams are going to have glaring weaknesses on their resume, so you have to ask yourself if your putting a team in the field that can actually win a game.

Yeah, I know all of this is coarse-grained. I have tons of little windows open with who beat whom and the like, but I distilled some important stats for the purpose of the thought experiment. The point was to emphasize how bad the last several resumes are. And I did miscount. Five of those eight make the tournament (barring a run by someone behind them). Feel free to study in more depth and give me your five, but I definitely don't have time to hunt down and post every relevant detail.

For my money, it's Drexel, Seton Hall, Northwestern, Tennessee, and probably Miami.

And obviously, it's not comprehensive. It assumes, for instance, that Xavier, BYU, and Colorado State are in, while Washington, St Joe's, Dayton and NC State are out (or at least currently behind the listed teams. NC State is a poor man's Oregon). One could make it bigger. But I tried to pick a representative sample.

I think it's funny how people are saying we didn't schedule Cham but not explaining.

It was the host to the Maui tourney. Nothing we could do about it.

To your first point, did you see the mock brackets 2 years ago when they were talking of going to 96 teams? Glad they stopped at 68, because like you said, resumes as weak enough now.
