Can we coach our WRs to grab hold of DBs and move them side to side like Oklahoma was able to do our DBs tonight on running plays to the outside? They just grabbed their shirts and pulled them away from the running lanes of their QB and RBs. We need to teach this technique for future sec officiated games.

But, hey, these sec officials were plainly determined they would not offend this Big 12 team or its' head coach who were hosting the contest. I'm surprised they even let us play with 11 guys. I bet they considered having us kick off to Oklahoma after an Oklahoma TD. I wouldn't have been surprised. Did you see the play where the OK lineman applied a choke hold from behind on our defender. I considered this might not be called "holding" since it was more of a "wrestling maneuver", and I reckon that's how the officials saw it because they called no penalty.

Interstingly enough a NFL team has that option if they want but who the hell would want too.

There were a few missed holds on Barnett, but I kind of enjoyed the fact that they let the DBs play more aggressively. Other than the obvious fumble, it was called consistently.

Maybe it's my orange-tinted glasses but I agree with the OP. Several interference calls were missed. Come to think of it, was there a single PI called?

I think the refs called it pretty good. I've thought 4 to 6 wins this year from the start.
Go Vols.

Vereen was held so bad on a couple you could see his shoulder pads.

They started calling holds once OU had the game in the books.

If all that is true then the o line should have been holding every play. I don't think there was a holding call on then line all night.

Our Oline needed to get a few pointers on holding from OU's line, Worley would have appreciated it. Kid took a beating last night..

I saw a few holds and that was a fumble, but the refs didn't really affect the outcome that much last night. If we get those calls then maybe we only lose by 14 or so.. OU was clearly the better team..

They sucked period.
They hit Worley above the shoulders all night
That is 15 yards.
The big 12 replay offical needs to be fired.

The holding was ridiculous - including the wrestling moves and guys ripping shirts off right in front of REF's. WTH was going on with those referee's? They were intimidated by Stoops and crowd!
But the more important ones were the interference by the DB's they always hit receivers with body blows prior to ball arrival - you could tell they were coached that way - which is why I think Stoops's are dirty.
On our long throw on first down they were holding Marquez's right hand he couldn't even get it around to go for ball. I am sorry but if I see it - they should see it and not be afraid to call it. It is a penalty!
That's why experience matters - it takes some time to learn how to cheat the rules to full advantage. But the Damn referee's ought to call the game by the rules and put an end to these tactics which are being coached!
Same as fouls in Basketball - you can foul the heck out of people if you do it the right way. Here's to our guy's learning how!
But the damn ref's need to have the guts to make calls! It impacted many plays last night.

There was an obvious blow to Worley's head that happened right in front of the Ref. Looked like a forearm shiver.

Wow were we watching the same game?

No kidding. I thought the same thing. Basically on every OU 4-down possession, there were at least 1 serious OL holding event that occurred on our DL. Watch the game again and ignore the position players - key in on OU's OL line and their technique. It was obvious holding was going on big time.But.....NO CALLS!!!

Is OU better than us. Yes, in about every aspect of the game. But that is no license to play illegally.

I never saw such pathetic game calling by the refs.

Justin was hit really hard in the head at least 3 times, no flags, WTH?

Our linemen were held, wrestled and choked down more times than I can remember, no flags, WTH?

Sutton damn sure DID have that ball out before the OU guys knee his the turf, it was close but it was obvious on every replay I saw, should have been Vols ball and OU wouldn't have scored that TD, WTH?

If we'd played their WR's the way they played ours there would have been flags all over the place.

Our WR coach needs to teach how to catch with only 1 hand and we'll be unbeatable, LOL!

SEC refs were playing to the OU crowd and were intimidated by Stoops it appeared to me.

Why have rules if we aren't going to enforce them?

There was one. I find it hard to believe that with as many young players as we are using that we only had one penalty called on us all night. (Tripping).

The officiating was typical SEC horrible! OU held on almost every single play and only got called once all night for holding. The fumble that was replayed and not called a fumble was a huge missed call. Instead of us going into halftime down 13-7, we go down 20-7. Why is it we always get screwed on replays?
